My mom likes to cook, but she doesn't like to eat her own cooking

Today after work, I was quite hungry myself, because I didn't bring my lunch box today. When I entered the door, my mom already prepare a basket full of those pork bun she learn from a Chinese cuisine book. I took 3 of them, and gobbled them up all in instant. I ask my mom, why didn't she get one and taste her own effort. She told me that she doesn't feel like eating her own cooking though. That is pretty weird, don't you think? Indeed, I saw my mom doesn't really eat much of her own cooking from my past experience. Is that they afraid of their failure, or something else? What do you think?

Although I do eat my own cooking I am wondering if she perhaps is just tired of cooking the same types of meals. This can happen sometimes where even though our cooking is really good we somehow cater to the others and are not in the mood for what we actually cooked.

It might be true, Hardworking. Because of too tired preparing the meals can makes a person lose appetite and tends to eat less. Same goes for me here, since most of the time i am preparing the meals...

Some great chefs are like that. They like to cook and experiment with ingredients, but they don't like eating what they cook. They just taste it and determine what's lacking and such but really they don't make it the main course of their own meal. I think great chefs, like your mom, derive happiness from looking at other people enjoy their creation.

Since i am also cooking for my family, maybe i understand why she is not interested to eat her own cooking. As for myself, i do feels bored have to taste over and over the same recipe. If i were to cook something new, then i will surely give it a try for the first time. But feels not interested to eat a lot and tends to let my family have the most. That's why, for most cook, they tends unable to eat much although their recipe tastes delicious. Because too tired and bored by the same taste and smell.

I don't know the reason why your mom don't eat her own food, it's really weird. I really like to cook too and when I cook to my family, I tend to eat less because I'm so busy cooking the meal that I don't have time to eat my own food, maybe that's the reason.

Lol. I can relate to this. Sometimes I just don't like to eat some of what I cook. I think it's because of all the preparations and busyness from cooking and the smelling all the taste from the cooked food that the cook instantly become full literally even though she haven't tasted the food. Happy lotting!

Maybe because they dont feel something special on their own cooking. I mean, that is their own cooking and they exactly know what it taste. So therefore, even though it taste great and knowing the fact its their own making they don't like eating too much anymore. There are not just "IN" to their cooking. Hehe

Generally what happens is that when a person cooks food...he/she is surrounded by the aroma of the food she is cooking... some may like it...and some may get feddup of it... its the same case with my mom.. she says that her stomach gets filld with the smell of the food itself and hence she dosent feel like eating what she has cooked... if ur a first timer...u will eat the food that u have cooked... but try the same thing for 10 to 15 years at a stretch without a break...u'll definately go mad...

I think I kind of do the same thing but I think I do it because I cook out of borboredom and I know I can just go to the store and buy the same thing that I know will taste good.
