Do you follow your heart or your brain when you fall in love ?

Some are pragmatic and always follow their brains when they decide to fall in love .But mostly people follow their hearts and love happens. I personally think love is a strange feeling and can happen anytime with anyone .It is not actual love if you calculate and fall in it . It is a spontaneous feeling and knows no computation . What do you think friends ? Which category due you belong to ?

hi rolly, Love is a poison It can freeze our brain not to think straight I already proved to myself that I am a hard headed one and don't listen to my small brain when it comes to love I just simply follow what I feel and be happy with it happy mylotting

Hi bhabycatchy I just read your discussion yesterday and I know too brain stops working when love comes in and all is overtaken by heart . That is true love and good or bad we must accept it and be happy with it . Wish you all the best in life and God bless you !

I usually try to listen to my brain when I fall in love. I have heard many times that one should follow their heart when in love but honestly I am yet to find someone who I trust so much that I could let go of my thinking/logic and just go with the flow. Its kind of scary!LOL Been in love with some people already but have never had any urge of following my heart with them..perhaps that's why I haven't yet suffered so much hurt from a failed relationship as I hear some other people experience. Hurt was there but wasn't so intense that it would stop me from functioning!

You are right . It hurts a lot when your trust is at stake . Some incidents in our lives makes us more cautious and makes us use our brain more than our heart . But as you know love is blind and involuntarily and sometimes we lose our heart and fail to use our brain . Good luck to you !

I believe that I follow my heart without really even trying to do it. When i decide I always decide on the love direction. Like when my boyfriend and I have a fight and he leaves and stays with his sister for the night we are calling each other because we can not stand to be apart. we know sometimes we are not good for each other but our hearts are just too big for each other to be apart. So we keep trying to work at it and see where it takes us!

Thanks Amanda for your response . You have a valid point that when you are in love you follow your heart involuntarily. Nice to know the sweet relationship between you and your boyfriend . God bless you !

hello rolly, What my heart dictates- is what I will surely follow. I may sound stubborn- but love is not to think - but to feel. So, when it comes to loving someone, I will follow my heart. Have a good day jaiho®

When I was younger I must admit that the heart really was more what I would follow. After several life bumps and experiences I tend to now allow my heart to feel but yet I do make sure that the brain is also sync with the heart. If not then I tend to follow more of what my brain says, after all it is the brain that will send signals to my heart.

Thanks for your reponse HWG . I know we lose our heart when we are young but with experience the brain takes the upperhand . It is always the brain which regulates our action but the play of heart and brain has been metaphorically used here . Hope you understand what I mean .

I am a fast thinker. I follow my heart but I do think over the whole scenario even the worst one. Still I go for it if it's love and I don't care to leave everything behind. So you tell me, what i am?

You are a true lover definitely . The brain becomes void when you fall in love and the heart functions even sometimes under duress. Good luck to you !

I follow both. First few weeks in new relationship are the most important for the future of relationship and this is the time when my brain is in charge over the heart. After this few weeks I can relax a little bit and then my heart is talking.

Thanks koperty for your response .You have a good point . You mean to say one should be careful in the initial stage and apply brains for the future relation to be successful .

I follow both of them, it is meaningless to think or choose anyone of them. In my point of view,i use my brain and heart simultaneously. If you love someone, then trust the person honestly, but at a limit. Because limitation makes the boundary of our life.Don't trust anybody like a fool, when you fall in love.Or I have another choice, what is going on our life, let it be go, and all our love, affection, hatred, tension and sorrow will be passes to the God for holding our life management.

Thanks for your response rajivgupta . You seem to be calculative as well as sensible by using your brain and heart when falling in love . But I doubt how far this is feasible . You have stated a good point that of putting reliance on God and making Him take the decision on your behalf and let love happen as it is . Good luck to you !
