There's an evidence about Lilith, the first wife of Adam before Eve then, why they didn't put it in the bible? -- and why they didn't want Lilith in the bible? -- what's the reason? I am curious! The first wife of Adam is Lilith, a woman who does not want to be subservient to Adam -- Well -- why they didn't want to accept it? I have read that there's indeed a bible verse about Lilith, a woman who does not want to be suvservient to Adam. When Adam failed, God created another woman to be his wife and that is Eve, and Eve became subservient to Adam and got sin, and became the downfall for all humanity. There's a scholar debate about Lilith and I don't understand why they don't want to accept it huh? I have read that they didn't put it in the bible for what purpose? Is it because we were in the patriarchal society that's why, they don't appreciate Lilith that much? Why they keep telling that it is a myth even if it is not a myth? I believe on Lilith, the first wife of Adam before Eve because I have seen and read about the evidence about Lilith on the internet and they stated that there's really an evidence that Adam got a first wife before Eve.

imposible lilith could not have been before eve because to disobey her husband at that time would be a sin sin had not came into the world yet making this theory impossible

If sin by definition is to transgress the word of god than how would Lilith have sinned by disobeying her husband unless he was a god?

Sorry, the available evidence seems to prove that there never was an Adam and Eve as told in the Bible. http://biologos.org/questions/evolution-and-the-fall If there was no Adam then it is more than a bit silly to discuss who his first wife was.

Did you visit the site I provided the link to? If you did you will realize that a direct witness is not required to confirm that there was no Adam. The witness is in our genome. It is good to believe what is in your heart only if that belief has a basis in factual reality otherwise you are letting fantasy dictate your beliefs.

just my opinion but i know in my heart i am 100% right. I don't know if you believe in god or anything but to me if you start unwraviling things in the bible the whole thing just fall's apart. In the end of time it is reported that people will turn against god and that breaks my heart. What about all the evidence that points to god????? everytime someone has a heavenly encounter people call them crazy or say that they made it up so why should i beleve what a scientist has to say.

I would say there is speculation, but not evidence I've been reading the bible for more than thirty years and there is nothing in it about a 'first wife' of Adam, but an account of the first man and woman.. I believe some of this speculation comes from the idea that there are two different accounts of their creation, one in chapter one and one in chapter two which some think of as other than Adam and Eve.. but what it is, is that the chapter two account is an insert to the chapter one account/ list of the acts of creation (you know the six days of creation) account.. blessings..

The first known work that contains the story of Lilith is "Alphabet of Ben Sira"... as work of satire. I think ol' Ben himself (being a satirist) would enjoy the irony of his work being taken seriously.

Not all articles that you can read online can serve as an evidence. And what's the proof that this evidence is even valid. Not because it is stated online and there are some facts related to it, it is already the real thing. I don't know much about Lilith but what I know is she is demon or pagan figure. But I believe what is written in the Bible.

I think that's one of the devil's deception. The devil's job is to divert and misinform people to deceive. They can make stories for their intent to misdirect and mislead people. The "father of lies" has many tools to destroy the beliefs of Christianity. Aetheism, agnosism and humanism to say a few.

I wish you would post your links about 'evidence' as it is hard to evaluate just based on your word. Even the Bible reference you say is there. I would also caution that if you believe everything you read on the internet, you are going to be mislead many times.

well as I don't beleive in Adam and Eve, I see no reason to beleive in Lilith. although she does make for an excellent story.

What is the evidence? Where does the evidence come from? Tell us about it.

This is not my first time to hear about her, the thing is, it is a blurry for me, her being the first woman before Eve is a bit sketchy too. There might or might not be truth in it. I also do not believe in everything i read here online. Why people do not believe in her? Well, like the previous mylotter said, the bible was made for manipulation. If they put her in it, every detail of what is in the bible will be jeopardize..like that of Eve as the first woman. We really cannot force people to believe in such facts.

I have heard of Lilith before being Adam's first wife but would love to know more about the evidence that proves she was real. Many scholars agree or disagree about her being his wife as no one would ever presume God would have to make more than one woman for Adam. I myself do not know what to believe due to God not approving of divorce. Knowing that God has knowledge of everything it is hard for me to grasp the fact that he would have made a woman that was not right for Adam on his first attempt at making him a wife. Also, if the Bible states there is only two reasons for divorce, hatred and adultery, why would the fact that Lilith was not obedient to Adam have mattered? Not saying I do or do not believe that Lilith was actually Adam's first wife or not, just wondering out loud some of my own questions.
