*I'm here for the money - And I ain't leaving til they throw me out* I have several books of scrapbooking paper and a few stamps etc that i can use to start scrapbooking. I have the stuff and I have a few options, Keep them because they were my mothers, sale them because all I would do is keep them, or attempt to scrapbook and sell some of my creations because I think my mom would be happy to see me doing something with her scrapbooking stuff. I'd also be getting money from it, which is a plus. Truth be told, I don't like to work for the government. I want to be able to make my own money and set my own hours. I realize in order to do that I have to wake up and make something of my life. I've got things here to start scrapbooking with and I've been looking on etsy for ideas of pricing. Of course I'll have to try a few pages, and then try selling them... I have to take into consideration the cost of shipping etc of course as well. In any case, This is where I need advice. If you've ever sold on etsy, let me know. I've heard good and bad things about it and I need to know if there are any other sites out there, or ways to make money from crafting. I'd start off with selling online, if I got good at it I'd also open a booth or two at a craft fair once or twice a year, and I'd probably take some stuff to the cricket's nest, a local crafting type store. I'd also only use what I have at my disposal for the time being, if I made good money from what I do have, I'd eventually start to expand my collection.

I know people sell scrapbooking pages, I've just personally never seen the point, I guess I'm too much the crafter myself. I've also seen people sell scrapbooking pages that you can print out yourself - I've seen my sister do this, I can see the point to those, since my sister has talents, but crafting really isn't one of them. I would look around, I've heard of a few craft sites besides etsy but can't bring them to mind this morning.

I know I just happened to think of it myself, i mean selling premade scrapbooking pages. I figure people would much rather make them themselves, but atleast with so many sellers on etsy, it must be a popular thing to buy. Oh I've heard of digital scrapbooking, is that what you mean your sister does? I've only got scrapbooking supplies and yarn left over from when I TRIED to crochet. I may keep that and take a class one day, I'd love to be able to do granny squares at the very least. There's one place I know of where this woman sells quilts out of her home, I bet she makes a pretty good bit of money out of them each year. I just want to get into crafting, I know I have the "thumb" for it as my mom was a great crafter. I'll be looking around more, most likely also utilizing craigslist as well.

Names I have heard of, but not investigated for crafting are Zibbet, Artfire, and BluJay. I evidently have the "thumb" for many things from my mom, but she tended not to finish them. I got that too.

There are a lot of sites out there where you can list for free, in addition to Etsy. I have good intentions on all of them. I think you should try making some pages. I will be looking to see what advice others give you, though.

It is always fun to visit the craft stores. I have many things I intend to do, and need to get busy this morning. I am doing a lot more freelance writing and a lot less of what I have been considering my "fun" stuff like MyLot.

if the freelance writing pays off for you good in the end then it's worth it. I tell you, though, now that I am working outside of online again I am so happy. I still want to earn more, and have fun doing it, so scrapbooking I think is for me. My mama used to like doing it herself. I think I can see why with all the beautiful things I've seen on etsy.

Income tax and VAT already account foe 40% of my income. Makes you wonder why we bother working when so many people claim child benefit and so forth. Might as well stop working and sponge- but my guess is that I would be able to claim zilch.
