I just don't know

How many times have you said and heard I don't know? How does it make you feel? I have heard and said I don't know. I can't explain why I don't know, but I sure do try. I can not stand asking someone a question and the only thing that comes out is I don't know. Anyone one that clings to that may not know about things that may really matter to others. I don't know why it bothers me because I say it too. However, I will say i don't know why, and have some kind of reason why I don't know, at least that is something. I don't know by itself is so vague and pointless to say.

It's okay to be honest and say I don't know if you are personally talking to the person. But if the person just responds a plain I don't know, to your question here in Mylot, well that is somewhat annoying because it is obvious that they just wanted to say something for the sake of posting something. I sometimes don't respond to members here if I don't have the answer to their question. It makes me feel that "hey, why in the first place you participated in my discussion when all you can just say is "I Don't know", and giggle "hehehe, i don't know!, yes really pointless.

I am a curious person, I like to know how others feel about certain things. I honestly can't stand the saying. I like the my lot, I can learn more about others and how they feel the same of different about something like "I don't know". I have heard some posts that have some of the same feelings as I do and if someone did say just "i don't know" on here I would not respond either. That would not seem very helpful to me. I'd rather speak my mind and if someone does not agree, id rather hear their opinion.

hello, I also said that words I dont know. But I also heard that to many people, maybe they just really dont know what is the reasons etc. But sometimes it is really irritating me when they said I dont know but they did not give any effort of saying those words. I mean does they really dont know? or they dont want to disturb in what they are doing. hmmmm

In some cases i believe it can mean several things. In some cases we just don't know, i mean we really just don't know. However, when you hear it so many times, even i begin to think maybe i just don't care, or maybe i just don't want to know, or leave me alone. I try so hard to only use those words when i just don't know or elaborate on what i mean when i do say it. It tends to help.

Hi. jennigoff33. Welcome to myLot! I will usually say, 'I don't know", when I really don't know something. There is usually a sentence behind what I am about to say after I make this statement. Saying, "I don't know", makes me seem unsure about something. I know I just don't say this phrase just to say it. If I hear this statement, I would rather a person elaborate more on what they mean when they say this statement.

That is just how i feel, there are always times when we just don't know but elaboration is an effort that can be useful when there are some uneasy feelings about something. I don't know can mean too many things to let it stand alone with nothing else to say.

Well I have to admit I say that a lot when someone asks me a question yes I am guilty!! L.O.L. Mainly because I really don't know the answer to the question when it is asked to me.

lol! we all are guilty. In some cases i just don't know can be appropriate. But in some cases, if you say it too much it gives that feeling that you just don't care. I have seen some relationships fail just because they heard these words to much and no attempt to elaborate.

I guess most people feel like you do but do it anyway. I'm also at fault on this at times. But as much as possible I try to kick off the habit. Sometimes when I'm too tired or too busy to answer or think of an answer, I opt to say the quick easy end-of-discussion answer: I don't know. On the other hand, if I really don't have the answer or any idea of what to say, I honestly say I don't know with additional query or suggestion if I have one. That way, I don't really feel bad at saying the redundant phrase.

Everyone says it but in some cases, to others it can be viewed as i don't care, or i don't want to know. Man is it hard to please everyone. However, sometimes it is nice to elaborate and not just use the i just don't know phrase unless u truly don't have a clue. If I do say it to much, I believe it is time to find out why i just don't know.
