Would a change in your life make you happy today?

Often, when we're unhappy, we fall into the habit of thinking that, if only one or two particular things in our life would change, everything would be fine. We might focus on the fact that we need a new car, or a raise, or a change in our living situation. We dwell on this one thing and complain, or daydream about what it would be like to have it. Do you think that a change in something would make you happy today? why or why not?

Hiya pose, Depends what kind of change I suppose. Right now I can´t think of anything that I would like to drastically change right away. There a few times I wish for something different but don´t we all? Even if its just for a few second who has not wished for something or to be someone else its a human habit we always think that the other Mans Grass is always greener. I am quite happy as I am right now and I don´t wish for changes but they do happen whether we want them to or not we are constantly changing although maybe unaware of it.xxx

i am unhappy with my life right now. so yes a change in my life right now would make me happy. i need a change of living conditions and a change of people in my life. right now i am living with my parents and having to live by their rules. this is so annoying. i need my own space to do as i please. as far as people in my life go i just need to meet some new people and make some new friends because the people in my life right now are just not good ones to be around.

Hi cowgirl, Since you are young, I'm sure that there will be many changes in your life. My advice is not to depend on other people or circumstances for happiness. You and you alone will always be responsible for your happiness. It comes from within and you must allow it into your life. Thank you for commenting. Blessings.

I understand your wanting to be on your own, but remember that as you give up one unhappines you might be encountering others. The grass is not always greener on the other side, even if we believe it is. Still I can appreciate your wanting independence and making your own decisions and you probably know that also means a lot more responsibilities. I wish you well

The thing about being happy outside yourself is that whatever it is you think you need will only make you happy for a short time. Happiness comes from within you and this you obtain from being grateful and serving others.

Hi savypat, That is very true, happiness does come from within. In order for someone to be happy they must know this and than the changes can be for the best, because they know that their happiness doesn't depend on it alone. Thank you for your response. Blessings.

Wow that is so true. It took me years to figure out happines is very much what you tell yourself about what is going on, rather than what is really going on.

"Be careful what you wish for." This is the first thing that I thought. So, no. I don't think that a change in something today would make me happy. Well, maybe just for a while but not truly happy. I prefer to find joy in what I have for the day and strive to get the things I want for tomorrow. There may already be a lot of "instant" things around us, but not instant happiness.

I totally agree with you. I had the rare change to having this happen. Once I got my wish, it turned into a total NIGHTMARE... So its always good to respect, your life on what you do have... Not what You think you need.

Hi jaimz, Thank you for sharing and I agree with you. It might bring happiness for a little while but true happiness has to come from within and not from material things. The person who is content with what he/she has today is the one who has found true happiness. Blessings.

I have to say yes. If I was able to move right now to a smaller town closer to the mountains I would be a lot happier. I do not care for big places and I seem to be more comfortable in the country or a small town. I feel more inspired in those places.

Hi velvet, Thank you for responding here and you have a point since you prefer small towns. My thoughts are to be happy today, where I am and with what I have. If I can do that, I would be happy with change as well. Blessings.

AS far as life in general, I am happy with the way things are going. There are a few things that I want to change but they won't make a big difference in my life. And knowing that I m the one that has to change things makes it a lot nicer.

yes. diffidently i can be happy but if the changes are only positive then i happy and when the change are negative then would not be happy. And if today's change is greatest then yesterday then would be happy.

Hi sheetal, Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I am not one who feels that changes in where I live or the material things that I receive will bring me happiness. I feel that if we are happy with what we have today, we will be happy tomorrow. Material possessions are good if we understand that such things alone will not bring happiness. Blessings.

a positive change is welcome. it would indeed change a lot in my life. even if i try to be calm even in the midst of a serious predicament, i am anxious of the outcome and a positive change will truly change everything. i hope to God all will be well.

Hi bingskee, Thank you for commenting and I wish you only the best. Positive change is always good but we must remember that our attitude is what makes the difference and change itself can only bring temporary happiness. Blessings.

Hi Pose: Yes, you are right and the funny part is that we always think it's necessary to have something or that something happend to be happy and well it's just fake. Of course it's always good to make improvements in our lives we can be happy now, not tomorrow. We have the power to be happy if we want it. ALVARO

Hi Pose123, it will depend what changes it will occur. If you think you love the way you are right now and contented for everything you have no need to have. I think changes for the best much better, Humanly speaking we really don't have satisfaction, we always crave for more.We are not contented for what we have. we just be thankful for everything, the air we breath, the food we,the people who always w/ us in times of our down. Just put a smile and everything feels good!!!

Hi dimple, A very good response, thank you. I agree that we always crave more, it seems to be human nature. Happiness comes from within and no outward circumstances can make us happy unless we decide that we are going to be happy. New friends, a new home, more money can make us happy for a short time, but will never give us lasting happiness. Blessings.

Definitely a change in anything would really make me happy. A change in my career, change in my way of living, a change in how I handle my life. My life really is not on its order, I am jobless and maybe a change in my career would make me happy. Also a change in my attitude towards dealing with the problems in life would make me happy.

Hi heartstrings, I can't speak for you, but I'm sure that you've hit the nail on the head for many of us, when you mention a change in attitude. Right now you need a job and one where your talents will be of service, but no outward change can bring permanent happiness. We are happy when we decide to be happy. Thank you for sharing those thoughts. Blessings.

A certain point in our life we will encounter this thought of "what if i change something in my past or undo a wrong move?", I've been here and i don't think changing something would make me happy, i believe in if it's destined to happen then so be it, because it's our own decision to be in these position.

If you are unhappy with your life now maybe you need a change. I mean, why would you still stay with you life today if you know that you're not anymore happy? there are so many things in life. Try to explore and find the things that makes you happy, that makes you feel contented and happy.

Hi elprinsesa, Thank you for responding but can change ever bring lasting happiness? I know that happiness must come from within and that although material possessions of themselves cannot make us happy, it can still be a good thing if we understand the meaning of happiness. Blessings.

At this point in my life there are a few things that could make me happier.....but one in particular....if I had a different job. If I did it would make each day a bit easier to deal with...too much stress right now but I am on the cusp of retiring....and would like to do something part time....but not what I am doing right now!

It would bring momentary happiness, or a better life situation, but over all happiness, not necessarily because there would be more and bigger things that I would desire. But on that note be happy with what I have, and if things bigger and better come it is a blessing and will accept it with open arms.

Definitely yes, I badly need a change in my life. The problem is that I can't decide what exactly I want - such a confused situation, isn't it? If you tell me to choose something I wouldn't know what to ask. But I think that the most important thing is to guess what would be the one thing that can trigger a whole series of changes. Maybe this is not something outside but something inside you - a change that will make you able to deal better with your life. It's no easy but maybe we could achieve this if we really try.

Hi fannitia, I think that you are right about it being something within us because happiness must come from within. It is really a matter of attitude. We must be happy now because that is the only time that we have. If a person can be happy today with the present circumstances, than he/she will be better able to accept the changes that happen. Thank you for sharing. Blessings.

I think that when we are unhappy about our lives or ourselves that we should just make the changes instead of wishing for the changes to come. I use to be unhappy and daydream about how I would want my life to be like. Then one day I realize that I should just work hard to make my life more like that.

Hi ankitbhat, I guess everyone hopes for something positive to happen in their life. That's not a problem unless we let our happiness depend on it. Thanks for commenting. Blessings.
