I just don't have gut to invest with my friend

A friend of mine ask me to invest some money in stock market, such as Bank of America, since the price of it dropping so low. When it goes back up again, I might make some profit from it. From my personal opinion, I am not familiar with the stock market, and I don't how exactly to play this game on hand. So, I simply thanks his advise, but no thanks. I just too scare to invest in anything. The economy wasn't so great, and we all do the best we can to save our little savings. Investing just too risky for me now, and I am uncertain about the future too.
