Are You Pratical When Planning Things?

We just had a big event for our Church where we went to a Park and sang songs, and baptized over 21 people. We also went downtown Seattle witnessing to people and singing songs, etc. and feel that this was really planned out. But there have been times with this and other things I have done I know were not really thought out before hand and even seemed thrown together somehow. Personally I wish that from now on everything that I ever do could be well thought out and planned, and practical to something where I could be able to do it and everything would be OK. Most of the time though it never seems to work out as planned. So was wondering with others here are you practical or impractical and what have you learned to help you? ~~TINA~~

Krausehome: Being aged 60+ nowadays I always plan for things within my capacity. I do not want to get into tension as it may affect health. I am happy you were in group efforts and you felt happy. Yes. such things will make you forget about your illness also. I am sure it has come down and you are improving very well.

Well there are many times like this that I think it is how God reminds me that life is not always just about me and what I am going thru. It is also about others, and helping others and being able to give back. Even online we can give back in so many ways if we allow it, and each day we live makes it so much easier to survive and move on to the next.

In my opinion one should be planned about their activities and events. When planning is implemented and followed activities according to the plan, we will find the goal as we established. If you see profile or biography of successful person you can see that they are well planned about their life and activities. They are planned even every single minutes. the planning should be flexible that it can be changed according to unpredictable incident. This is the point most of us are unsuccessful to be practical.

Yes, even when planning things we do need to remember to be patient and understanding and just press forward even when everything does not always go our way. Planning for something never does hurt as long as you remember to be flexible and willing to accept change along the way.

Hello! Planning your activity is best before acting on it. But in reality, sometimes our plan will not be follow if there are unforeseen circumstances that will happened. Just like to my work for example, before i sleep at night i planned and scheduled my activity for the next day work. But sometimes, when the day come i surprised that there are many situations that will i do first before i will proceed to my planned activities for that day. For me in time like this, I will do first the things which is so important but still i will proceed to my plan because it's important to follow your plan activity for the day.

Yes, this is very true. I find that when I can plan for more I often get more done. But I also allow for chances of something else happening to come my way as well just in case.

I plan everything. Sometimes I plan too much. I want to know what I am going to do at a certain time etc. My ex never wanted to plan anything. That was really hard for me to accept, but I did. Not too well though that is probably one of the problems we had!

I like to plan a lot of times when it comes to things, but at the same time I have always been one to be a little flexible as well. I have always been open for change if it is to happen, and many times it has been good for me as well.

When i was working before, i was team leader before i became the manager. I always thought of the practical means of planning because i really hate wasting time and money. Even though i know it's not my own money but my company, i really believe we have to conserve all resources no matter what. This has been my attitude for as long as i can remember.

Me too practical with all things which i wants to do in future. I always see positive and negative plans for things i want to do. I assume in my mind what i have to do if its done and what to do if its not done. So that i want to say im prepared to ready for everything. Being practical is useful to do things easier and it wil avoid failure towards our plans.

This is some interesting thoughts. I know that it can be disappointing when you try and plan for things like in your future and then something happens and that idea is changed, or set back but at the same time this should be a sign to help keep you wanting to push forward no matter what happens from there.

A little of both..some of the most unplanned trips I have taken have been the best...other times if more people are involved it takes a ton of planning..and sometimes my purchases are impractical....others are very practical!

Ah, but there is also something to be said for spontenaity. Your Church is very ambitious. That a lot to do for one event. In the church I used to belong to, we usually only did one of those things at a time.

Plans are always a good way to go. But reality usually makes it happen alittle differently than planned. Always seems to change some way. Well planned out and practical would be nice but rarely can turn out that way. I have just learned that no matter how much planning you put into something it is going to turn out differently. Not necessarily a bad thing.

I try to always be practical when I am planning things, but there are so many times when my best laid plans don't work out the way that I intended for it to be. For example, with dealing with the chemotherapy I've had to do a lot of planning of childcare for my son. Well, we had our care worked out for tommorrow and now Tom is on delay due to port issues so I have to arrange for a pretty much last minute child care provider for next Tuesday because that is when they are going to do the port evaluation and possible exchange.

I find that when I make plans, it rarely comes together. Something almost always never goes according to what it's supposed to be. So, for me plans would just be a guide. It's the practical way of looking at it. And that learning took a while to sink in, but it helps to understand it. Life happens.

Ive learned that even if you plan it all, it might not go the way you want to BUT Ive learned that when it doesnt go as planned, its still alright. Its because life is throwing something at me and I go with the flow. Im a bit of a maniac when it comes to plan something. I have a tendency to go into even the most itsty-bitsy-teeny-weeny details and it drives my sister crazy . So Ive learned to not be as crazy with the details anymore and if something goes wrong, then I point at her and laugh about it. I dont need that extra stress in my life anymore

That is always a Good way to look at things. Because many times especially the older you get their will be things that will happen that you never expect and it will often make you really think. If more people could learn from your thoughts here there would be a lot less stress and probably Heart Attacks, etc. for sure.

I tend to be more practical as I do invest a lot of time in planning and putting together events as I am a perfectionist. However, I am not so practical that if things do not fall through, I can make light of any situation and go with the flow to pick up the pieces where all can enjoy their time. I am a bit on the improvisational side as well, because no matter how much I fret to be completely practical sometimes with others involved, it can cause for a bit of disorganization, when we counted on others to do their assigned share. But my goal and strategy at all time is to be practical and assure that all runs smooth.

Wow!! With all you are going thru my friend without having a job, etc. I am Surprised that you tend to stay so focused and motivated like you do. But that is probably a lot of what gets your thru each day without allowing yourself to become so discouraged as well. Personally you have been a big Inspiration to many on what you have learned for sure.

Hi Tina, I'm a very practical person. I try to think out all sides of every situation before acting on a decision. There are times when you have spur of the moment decisions you have to make and you just have to hope for the best.. but when planning things, I try to be thorough.

This is a good way to be. Lately I am really trying to stay more focused and organized since there are many things going on that I am really want to see happen. I know there will be wrenches and somethings not be as planned, but if I remember to stay focused it usually always turns out for the Best.

Quite often stuff happens that there's no way anyone could have planned for, and in those cases all I can do is MY BEST, but when possible, I like to have things planned right down to the last detail. I still plan for mishaps, incase something goes wrong. Just because something's planned, doesn't mean it'll go AS planned. LOL

I was not a very practical person when I was younger but that has certainly changed nowadays! I generally plan my days very carefully and as I do so I stay open for the unexpected because life can be unpredictable and that is not necessarily always a bad thing because surprises can be very positive at times. One of my mottos is, ‘plan ahead while being prepared for the unexpected!’

Sometimes I like to just let things fall into place because most of the things around us are uncontrollable, just unpredictable. I do seldom try to plan things out but most of the time, it doesn't really go very well. So I decided not to worry too much anymore and just take whatever comes in my way with open arms and a big smile.

Hi Tina how are you now? I hope you are in good health now... well, I am a simple person with simple way of living and to tell you honestly I am good in planning because I am very practical in terms of planning things thing but sometimes there were plans that turned not goes with the flow but I could handle those either because when I did plan I see to it and considered the pros and cons to prepare myself of the possible consequences of my plans. I am not a meticulous planner but just lenient in every details make our plan turns well.
