Hi,my friends! Mid-Autumn Day!who knows?lol~~~A traditional festival of China.Ok,I will talk about a story. Long long ago,It was said that...A woman named Changer who got a ever-young pill. She ate it and flew to the sky(heaven)).But she didn't know how lonely in the heaven. She lived with a rabbit there. She made a kind of cake named Mooncake. We call the day-Mid-Autumn Day,we eat mooncake in the day. I miss my family,I study far away from home now,I can't eat mooncate with my family.I feel sad.But I can go out with my friends and classmates, lol~~~ If u are eating mooncates, tell me,how do u feel now? If u don't have a mooncate or even have never heard it before, never mind,A cate is just ok,lol~~~ Happy Mid-Autumn Day,have a good time!^_^

You can't buy mooncakes where you currently live? I suppose there are Chinatowns in almost all the countries in the world?

Mooncake - This is what we so called mooncake that we have on the Mid Autumn Day.
There are many type of mooncake, some are GuangDong mooncake, some are ShangHai Mooncake, and some are Ice Skin mooncake, and there are also Jelly Mooncakes. The ingredient are varied and you can find it from Read Bean paste, lotus seed paste to the modern type with Chocolate mooncakes.
Hi! Happpy Mid Autumn Day! I hope this is not too late since here is already in the afternoon. I know about the ChangEr's story but doesn't she flew to the moon? And there she lived with a jade rabbit. I like mooncake and this year I just learn to make our own mooncake. It is not too difficult though but it needs a lot of work. You have to make the doll and also make the paste, but since there is a ready made paste, so I just bough it and only make the doll myself. I also make some Shanghai mooncake and everyone after tasted it say that it is nice. If you are near hear, I shall send you some since I have make extra. Now I have got headache thinking how to finish all those extra mooncakes.

It is okay, making mooncake is not that difficilt, actually I just follow the cook book that I bought. I am sure you must have tasted the normal mooncake. So, I am not going to tell you how it taste like. Shanghai mooncake is more like a "Shao Pao" the ingredient are the same like normal mooncake, but just the skin are different, it is more "fragile" or crunchy. It's using Margarine, milk powder, eggs, corn flour, wheat flour, custard powder, icing sugar and some baking soda for the skin whereas the normal mooncake using Golden Syrup, baking soda, Soda Ash water and oil. Shanghai mooncake have got a better smell because of the margarine. I think I like the Shanghai mooncake more than the normal mooncake.

We have a large Chinese community here in the Philippines, most of them are already Filipino citizens and they are called "Chinoys", I have lots of friends and business associates who are Chinese or have Chinese blood so moon cakes is not strange to us, it is readily available in China town or in the malls, so many kinds and flavors and very delicious. Anyway thanks for telling the legend friend, I did not know that, we are more familiar with Chinese New year and the sticky rice cake called "tikoy" here which Chinese giveaway during the season. Sorry you missed your family and happy Mid-Autumn day
