I'm becoming a regular again in mylot!

I know I haven't been around very much in years, but have been getting more and mote active here over the past few weeks. Why is this you ask? Well I got this new super awesome phone that allows me to respond from anywhere. My emails come right to my phone and I can click the link read through the discussion and respond if I feel I have something to add. Most people have said that their phones are too slow to do this, I don't seem to have that problem. I have even been able to upload pictures in responses, with a glitch, lol. Technology is great sometimes. I got so tired of being stuck in a chair at the computer now I can sit outside, wait at appointments and be active on mylot. Don't really have a question to ask just wanted to share with everyone about my new technology. You can maybe share how technology has made things easier for you. Did something change to make it easier to mylot?

It's good to see you busy again! I don't have a modern phone contraption for myLot but since almost a year ago I do have a netbook which fits into my handbag and when I know that I am going to be somewhere with nothing to do for a while then it goes with me. I have a long overnight stay at the airport each time I go back to Italy from UK and I use it there and that makes the night just fly past so quickly!

Modern technology can be wonderful for those long tedious waits. As soon as I get in my truck with my daughter the first thing she wants is my phone to watch Netflix. So it keeps her occupied while I'm driving. I love my new device.

I have an iphone 4 and although very new to me, I was a blackberry user for many years. It is certainly something out of comfort and preference. But I prefer my laptop. I really do not care to myLot on my net-book, lol I guess I just really like the bigger screen. I have been very technologically savvy and currently I can't think of anything that has made it easier for me for myLotting that is. All has been great as I have been during my 9 months of activity here. I am glad you are regular again with myLot as myLot certainly has a great deal of wonderful veterans.

You have been very active here in your short period of time. A bigger screen is nice this screen is 4.3 inches so not to small, certainly big enough to read and reply.

I have an HTC HD7, its a Windows phone, the technology is amazing, I can talk and surf the internet at the same time. I'm recommending it to everyone. Also the phone provider I think is important.

I think that it would be wonderful to have a phone from which I could myLot. I do not like sitting in front of the computer, especially when the sun is shining brightly and it is a beautiful day outside. It would be much more convenient and time-efficient if I could myLot from doctor's offices or while grocery shopping or standing in line waiting for assistance, etc. I could even sit on my riding mower and get the lawn mowed while myLotting, although that might be pushing the safety aspect a little bit, especially if I am in the middle of an interesting discussion and forget to turn and drive into a tree or something.

@ safety aspect. Bo I wouldn't mylot from the lawn mower or the drivers seat of any moving vehicle. However standing in long lines or at appointments is great. I'm recommending to everyone. Think I can get a commission or maybe a job offer?

Haha, well even if it goes only 5 mph, it could throw you to the ground if you hit a tree, or a ditch if you weren't paying attention that is. Maybe get a few bumps and bruises. I truly hate sales though, can't stand to be told no.

It is definitely best to not try to operate any moving vehicle or machine while you are myLotting ... or doing anything else on a phone, such as texting or checking your e-mail, etc., even if it does not go very fast, because there is still a high risk of getting hurt. LOL! If you hate to be told "no", then you should not become a mother or a wife, either.

I have been wondering if there was a phone or app like this. It would be great if mylot would create a way to receive text to your phone as facebook does. You simply reply to the text and there it goes. My phone is too slow but if I could, I would do a lot more here.

beaniefanatic-- Happy to know that you are becoming active because you have got a new cell phone and you have internet facility in that. Good. I find it convenient to operate on computer or laptop. We have some members who operate through their phones. You say you are able to upload pictures also and that is nice.

I am able to upload pictures, comments and even this discussion was started from the phone. I just can't believe how fast it is. I think at times its faster than my computer. The new phone has all kinds of features still figuring it all out, learning new things everyday with it.

I have made a few friends here that moved to off line. I only stay in touch with one but she left here a long time ago. Mylot is responsible for a friend I would have never met otherwise. I have missed being an active part of mylot, and can see that this device is allowing to be here as I can be mobile. Like right now walking around outside typing.

Welcome back. I was completely away from myLot for almost a year when my late husband needed constant attention, and now that he has passed on, I am online again, but also engaged in so many outside activities that I do not spend much time here. I have a super awesome phone too, and among the many wonderful things I can do with it is to get the weather and email and stuff in bed before getting up in the morning. I love that! About the only place I don't take my smart phone is to the beach because for one thing the sun is very bright there and the other thing is I don't want to drop it in the sand. Well, yes, I have already dropped it in the sand a few times, but if I am with other people I leave it locked in the trunk. If alone I would want the phone with me everywhere.

I'm so sorry to hear about your recent loss. I do have many things going on that keep me quite busy, but am now able to at least stay up on things here. Funny you should mention the beach, I was there yesterday. I wanted to start a discussion about it but as you pointed out the sun was so bright I couldn't really see the screen. I did take lots of pictures and we listened to music on it. It stayed in my pocket when I wasn't taking pictures.

Hi beanie, first of all, welcome back...:) I don't know how long you been gone, but if it has been over two years, you need to reread the guidelines and make sure you follow them. They have gotten very strict and if you post something that is against the guidelines and you get reported, that post will be deleted, affecting your earnings as well as anyone who replied.
• Grand Junction, Colorado
13 Sep 11
By not being here I mean not posting discussions or commenting much, I read discussions through my emails and some of them I actually go check out what others have to say. I do check the guidelines regularly. Mylot is strict but I believe them to be fair. Thank you for the advise and well wishes.

Oh, that's good.. I only mentioned it because I have seen people come back after a couple years and start posting against the guidelines and then confused when the post is deleted.
• Grand Junction, Colorado
14 Sep 11
I appreciate the advise. I rarely have anything deleted that isn't expected. Such as telling someone that it's against the guidelines to post referral links, or you can't start milestone discussions. Those I expect the emails about the deletion, I can't think of any email deletions that weren't expected.

It seems that alot of members are becoming more regular lately. I wonder why people say it their phones are slow and yours isn't. Nothing has changed in my technological world. I have a refurbished laptop and am lucky to have it. A phone like you have probably costs a good amount.

I don't know why others have such issues. It may something to do with their providers. The phone after the rebate was $100 I have paid a lot more for phones that did considerably less. I think that is pretty reasonable.

don't you find typing on a smartphone keyboard difficult?
• Grand Junction, Colorado
14 Sep 11
Actually no, it took a few days to get used to, but haven't been having any issues. Well one issue the emoticons are difficult to use. But spelling is doing well, it autocorrects also gives me options for words that I can select, goes pretty fast.

So, what is this phone that you got? I find myself waiting on my kids most of the time. And I always thought that those times are most convenient for myLotting. I have a blackberry, and it isn't so convenient responding to discussions as it doesn't load well. I was hoping that there would be an app that would make it easy, but if there's a phone, then I may just have to upgrade.

I got the HTC HD7, its a windows 7. It cost 199.99 with a 100 mail in rebate. I figured it was a good deal. Has a ton of memory, can watch Netflix , takes great pictures, can use the internet and no lag time. Pages load pretty quickly. I love it.

I have used my iPhone to contact mylot, but I'm not so good typing on the phone, I'd rather use my computer... but if I need to contact mylot for some reason (going into the hospital or a shooting in town or a plane flying into a building in town) I have used it. or when I was out of town, I used it a few times...

I have become accustomed to the key board quickly, it also edits my typing and shows me the correct spelling of words. If a word is misspelled it underlines it in red. It's perfect.

It would certainly make it easier to be active here if I could do this on my phone. I can't but I still try to make time each day for this site as I really like being here and responding to the discussions that my friends have started here. Congrats on being more active here and I hope that you can earn enough to pay your phone bill.
• Grand Junction, Colorado
15 Sep 11
When I first started here it would have been almost enough to pay for my cell bill with what I earned. Sadly those amounts of earnings would take being on here 24 hours a day, lol. May have to experiment with some activities here to see if I can get back up to those amounts again. Thank you and its nice to be back so actively.

Wow I love that phone too... In as much as I want to be regular here but time sometimes do not permit. Work pressure and others may have eaten most of my time. That is one thing we all like about technology, new inventions, innovations and others that give us comfort in doing our online activities.

I no longer work outside the home. I am pretty busy, what with home school, housework and yard up keep. Now I'm just not limited to sitting at a computer. Yesterday I was traveling and was able to do a bit while driving down the road, as a passenger.

I am glad that you returning to be active online. I haven't seen you for a while too. well, a for the rating system, it's been limited per day so that abuse won't ever be happening again. well, there had been good changes and people now are more friendlier than ever.more people are now posting with quality discussions, responses and comments. but the number of smileys are still the same

Thank you for the warm welcome back. I had read a few discussions on the rating system and have actually tried it out, it isn't the same for all, a couple of us have tried it our and we came up with different amounts that we can rate each other. I have seen alot more discussions with people commenting in there discussions which is very nice indeed.
