Unforgettable elevator experiences?

I had one with my current work place.
I had to stay for an overtime and finished my work around 11pm. Our building had 25 floors and our office is at the 5th floor. I got in the elevator and pushed "Ground" floor. It went down then stopped at the 4th floor.
The doors opened and no one pushed the button. When I pushed the "close door" button, i refused to close. I again pressed the button and kept my finger pressed. The door started to close slowly but opened again. This happened around 4-5 times.
I was totally freaked out, especially there are quite a lot of ghost stories that revolves around our building, especially the 4th-7th floors. Scared, I simply mumbled "whoever wants to get in/out, please just get in/out. I'm so tired, I want to go home" then the door suddenly closed and the elevator reached the ground floor.
After that incident, whenever I have to stay really late, I'll ask someone to accompany me.
Do you guys have any unforgettable elevator stories to share? It doesn't have to be scary XD It just happened that my unforgettable one's scary XD

Good thing it listened to what you said! And I'm amazed that you had the guts to have been able to say those things! I would have not known what to do if I were in your position.
I have ridden elevators a lot of times but I can't think of any unforgettable experience concerning it. I have been alone in an elevator a few times and sometimes it was scary that I had to get out running but most of the times, I fight my own fear so I would not panic. ^^
But there's an elevator story I will not forget although it was just told to me and did not really witnessed it because I was just born on that day when it happened. My aunt who I called "nanay" may she rest in peace, went with my father to the hospital where I was born. When they rode the elevator, my "nanay" took off her slippers before going in. My father laughed at her and was really amused. I also laughed when my "nanay" told the story to me.

That's freaky. That's one of the reasons I'm scared of riding elevators. There's so many ghost stories involving elevators.
Anyway, my elevator experience isn't that freaky, but I still freaked out. I don't think I'm claustrophobic, but I'm scared of being in an elevator. Anyway, this elevator I rode only services 4th to 11th floor, as that building has tremendous traffic, the separate the crowd for public and for private offices. That certain elevator's buttons weren't working from the inside, so we'll just have to rely on who's pressing from the outside. I was going to the 6th floor, but since no one on the 6th floor wants to get in, the elevator skipped my level and continued on up. At level 11 the last of the crowd went out and I was left there alone while it went higher still to level 18. I was so freaked out. I was able to get out on my floor on the way down. But the next time I have to ride that elevator, I don't know what I'll do.

I don't mind riding the elevator as long as there are other people around but if I'm all by myself while inside the elevator, I tend to get paranoid (blame "Final Destination" and "The Eye" movies Lolz!!!)

They should just have fixed the elevator instead XD That's so vexing! What if you have to go home late? I don't think you can rely on anyone outside anymore :P I remember my ex-boss who got stuck in between 5th and 4th floor. Good thing she had her phone with her. She was able to contact our office guard and asked for help.

The elevator was probably just malfunctioning. Maybe there are loose wires running on those floors that cause shorts in the electrical or something. I dont believe in ghosts so I think there is probably a pretty logical explanation to what happened. But if I was in your shoes and it was late at night and I was alone I would probably not held it together as well as you did. I would probably freak out and find the stairs and run down them lol.

I never seen ghosts but I do believe in them Lol! Maybe that's so but it's real freaky XD I'm about to panic. I wanted to use the stairs but the fire exit in our building opens from the inside but not on the outside especially after office hours. Why's that so? I don't know T_T I was running late once and since our office was in 5th floor, I decided to take the stairs from 1st to 5th floor. When I reached 5th floor, the exit's locked. same goes for the 4th and 3rd floor. I was able to exit using the 2nd floor door. It was useless. I just tire myself out and I arrived late. Lol!!!

That's true! Because you heard the story, you can't help but try to associate it with what's happening to you

I don't know what came into me but seeing the room filled with darkness and there's no one around, I'd rather reach the ground floor as soon as possible. Lol!

Last year i was in the house of my elder son, he lives on the 5th floor of an multi
storey apartment, people living here tell many ghost story, in my opinion ghosts and spirits do exist, they live in a different plane, they are usually harmless; i have 2 harmless ghosts in the very old drumstick-tree in our back yard, i have seen them.
One night i had to come to the basement to open the door at about 2am, i had exactly similar experience like yours.
Thnxs for sharing.

That's pretty creepy. I do believe that spirits and ghosts exists but never seen one. I really don't know how I'd react if I came face-to-face with a ghost

hi oh yes when I had gone back to the U of Calif in Irvine at age 45 I had to use the library a lot. so I had to use the elevator numerous times to get to the various floors. the elevators were in dire need of repair.Either it would stop afoot down from the floor you wanted off at or again would stop two feet above the floor. so as I was not a kid someone would haul up a chair and help me down if it was above the floor or if it was two feet below
put a chair in so I could climb up and get off the elevator. needless to say this was not a fun experience at all. they finally got them repaired so they stopped where they were supposed to even with the floor. lol.lol,.

At least they have it repaired now :D That's a weird way to get stuck in an elevator.
For some reason whenever I think of elevators, the movie "Final Destination" always enters my mind. Lolz!

That's good thinking on your part.
I have been told (by old ladies, when I was young), that I would be close to, or have lots of experiences with ghosts. Although I don't think I've never really had one, I always chat it up when I feel that there's something strange going on. I always think that if they are around, they listen to us too.

It's cool to hear that you're courageous to actually talk to them. If I ever got a chance to have a ghostly encounter, I wouldn't know how to react
