what is the best way to get responses in mylot

It can be a little upsetting not to get responses to your discussions; however if discussions are interesting and stimulating and get other members thinking they will respond - you initial question or comment will then become a discussion with plenty of input from other members. The type of discussions like 'How do you make money?' 'What ids your favourite colour?'do NOT inspire people to join in a discussion - so keep your discussions interesting and relevant and the responses will come flocking in!! Good luck

Well, there is no magic formula for getting responses. It is usually a hit and miss game. I have had discussions that have had over sixty responses, and I have had discussions with zero responses. I still don't know exactly which elements attract people and which discourage people from responding. I have a few tips though. Make your discussions interesting, but not to dark or to crass. The myLot population is very intelligent, and people here love to think. So if you post something thoughtful, something that requires the responder to really think about what they believe concerning the subject, you are likely to attract responders. It also helps if your discussion is fun flavored. A question like "Why does some relationships last while others fail?" is going to get more responses than something technical. Also, it helps to ask something fresh. Some discussions subjects have been way overdone. You can see which discussion ideas are fresh and which are overdone by doing a quick search with the myLot search bar above. The last things are to just sound smart and to be friendly. Someone who takes the time to develop their discussion idea will get more responses than someone who just posts a sentence. Someone who types out their words and doesn't use that lazy texting shorthand will also get more responses. Someone who replies to the responses will get more responses on other, future discussions.

You have a long way to go to making your presence felt here and when that happens you will not have time to comment on responses that you will receive. Even those who have been here for some time do not get responses to all of their topics. I have topics that have no responses and some of my topics have got more than 70 responses. There is so much here for you to do. You can respond to topics of other users which is an important part of this site.

Someone told me before that having many friends here would mean more chances of getting a response. That is because when you post a discussion, MyLot notifies your friends that you started a discussion, so at least that gets the attention of your friends. So, what I did was to give friend requests to all those who answered by previous discussions and those whose discussions I responded to. After that, a lot of people noticed my discussions. Try starting discussions in the topics that people are more interested in. What I do is choose the topics which a lot of people have included in their Interest. That way, a lot of people can see your discussion when they search for good topics in the discussions from My Interest. Of course it doesn't end there. No matter how many friends you have or how many people view your discussion, it will not be commented on if you don't present it interesting enough. I hope this helps!

Hello viju,this happened with me in the starting too.Best thing you can do is to make as many friends so that notifications of your started disc can go to your friends.Secondly try to start interesting discussions to attract as many people.I hope if you will do this you will get so many responses that you would be tired of commenting back.hehehe

Hii viju Title is most important part to attract the people I read this is in yesterday's discussion that title is most important part of our discussion.. if the content is good but the title is not attractive then less people will be respond.. but contents should be also good related to title..
