How to be a good leader?

To be a good leader you should be an influence to your members. How? Its important that u set a good example for them. Take a lead and everyone will follow. See to it that you dont just consider your own ideas in planning but consider the others to. Be democratic. Lastly, respect one another.

I think being the leader of a bunch of young kids can have some very memorable moments. I think not being judgemental is very important. Be friendly and positive. Don't pick favorites. Be responsive and try to be funny if possible. Think of how you would like to be treated if you were the kids.

The first thing to do is think back to a person that you really respected when you were their age. Why did you respect that person? What did they do they held your interest and made you like being around them? Then try to emulate that person. If the kids are at a youth camp, they are there to have fun. That is your job. See that they have safe structured fun. You will have guidelines to follow. Just remember what it was like to be younger and have fun with them...don't be stuffy, have fun with them. Just make sure that they still know that they have to follow the rules and guidelines of the camp.

I think to be a good leader one must have the thorough knowledge of the field which you are leading. Leader are the primary source of the inspiration or motivation for the follower so one must have the quality to motivate them in the same field. There should a interest among your follower to follow you and to excel in the same field. The base is the knowledge as is conveyed by the statement "Knowledge is power.". So first one must have a knowledge and then the skill to share it with others.
