I have Two Black Eyes!

I had a disagreement with the car door last Friday morning. The top corner of the door hit my head, just above my eyes, very, very heavily. Foolishly I drove to work. At work, I put a home made cold compress on the huge swelling. I managed the rest of the day, by taking a panadol. By the the next morning, I had bruising around my right eye. By yesterday, it had spread to my left eye. Today, a monday when I go to work, the bruising was farily extensive, around both eyes, and going down the side of my nose. I put make up on to disguise it, which was only partially successful. I see people staring at me, but they are too polite to say anything. It doesn't hurt, unless I touch the actual bump. But I do feel "blurry" around my eyes. I wonder how long I am going to look like Garth Vader?

Ouch Jenny! Maybe you should see a doctor. A bruise on the face and spreading. Doesn't sound right, my friend. Hopefully you don't have walk around with an ice pack on your face. And be careful.

My daughter thought that I may had had concussion. Wouldn't bruising be normal for this type of injury?

Whoa! That is indeed bad news. I hate the way cars just jump out and hit you like that. Nasty things they are! It probably was not a great idea to drive straight after receiving a heavy knock like that. Anything could have happened which could have lead to further injuries or worse! Thankfully you are Ok! "Garth Vader"???? Don't you mean Darth Vader? Or is Garth his son? So how are you now a few days on from the injury? Any better or has it gotten blacker?

Over the past few days It has become more purple/black and spread down the side of my eyes and sinuses. I went to the Doctor two days ago, and he said I was bit blurry due to the pressure of the bruising around my eyes. It is now turning yellow!! Not a good look.

That is no good, hopefully the turning yellow bit means that it is healing!

Have you went to a Doctor and had this looked at? Especially since it is Blurry to see. Sounds like you might have hit your head and face in just a way you might have damaged some Blood Vessels, etc. and does not sound like Fun. I hope things are going better for you now.

I ended up seeing a doctor two days ago. You are right, it was damaged blood vessels causing all the bruisning, which is now a kind of purple,,black and yellow.

People are probably wondering who you were fighting with. I would be very careful with that though. You could have really hurt something and need attention. I don't like the fact you say you are blurry. Maybe you should see a doctor to be on the safe side.

You could be still bleeding. My daughter fell and hit her head and her brain was bleeding and she had gotten 2 black eyes that got worse over a few days. I hope it gets better for you soon.

By this morning the bruising had spread. My office manager wants me to see a Doctor, so I will do that soon. My makeup wont cover it all up today, so it's not a good look.

The car door must have been pretty angry and I hope the car door was very repentant afterwards. LOL! Having a bruised face is like walking around naked...makes one so self-conscious. I do hope though that your bruise is just that, I nasty bruise and nothing else. If your eyes still gets blurry and doesn't improve in a day or two, i suggest you have it checked with a doctor.

Nothing happened to the car door!! Yes, Im a little concerned about the blurriness. I suspect it is just due to the bruising making my eyes feel heavy. If it doesn't decrease over the next day or two, I will go to the Doctor.

I'm thinking any time you injure your face you should see a doctor. Especially so close to the eyes. Keep us informed Jenny.

Car doors can be lethal, I feel your pain! My niece found that our too when she slammed one of her fingers in one of them! I would be inclined to get checked out because the bruising does sound extensive and the fact that it is spreading is a concern although it may be normal and once it settles the fading and healing will begin. A lesson learnt is that if one decides to fight with a car door, one is sure to lose! Take care of yourself Jenny!

Your poor neice would have felt the pain from a jammed finger, whicj happened to my daughter once. I did thonk the bruising was normal, but if it doesn't show signs of improvement in a day or two, I will visit the Doctors. It doesn't do my image at work much, good, seeing as I work for H & R Block in the front office.

Ouch! Maybe you should see a doctor. Any time you hit your head you are at risk for a concussion. They can be very serious and should be looked at. I hope everything is allright, but you should probably be checked just to be sure.
