Hi to all pinoys out there! When you have foreign friends visiting, when you want them to know how great our food is here in the Philippine, what will you let them try? Will you let them try infamous adobo, the super good garlicky and salty soy sauce taste? Or would you let them try beef calderata, that wonderful thick coconut milk cooked perfectly wit tomato and chili! Or you can let them try the world's only pork roasted whole! The lechon? Hehe. Wow, such great food we have over here!

Definitely Adobo! The very first thing that comes into my mind when we talk about Filipino foods is Adobo :D It's like a comfort food for most Filipinos and I'm quite sure foreigners would love this. A few months ago some managers from Guam visited our office and since we had a corporate lunch-out, we decided on Filipino dishes. We ordered at least 5huge servings of Adobo and they loved it to boot! One manager even asked our boss how to cook it XD

It's not really a certain recipes or dish. What I want to share the foreigners is a local vegetables known as alakon. Usually this vegetable is included in pinakbet or diningding. I heard in English it's called birch flowers. I remember there's an incident when a certain mylotter said this vegetable looks disgusting ans she will not eat it, I want to strangle that person. I don't know if you're familiar with this vegetable that it looks like the green worms. I really want this vegetable to be popular around the world. Another thing, we're the only country that uses avocado for dessert purposes. In other countries avocado is used as a mayonnaise substitute. I want to show the foreigners how we eat our avocado.

other countries used avocado for savory salads, sauces and sandwiches. yeah in our country avocado is a dessert material, from ice cream to fruit shakes. Around the world except Philippines avocado is like a low fat mayonnaise. from burgers to guacamole sauce to sushi.

I would have them try Crispy Dinuguan and Crispy Kare Kare. Two of the most delicious foods I have ever tasted. I'm pretty sure they would adore these foods and they would keep asking for more. Close seconds are Beef Pares and Ilocos Longganisa. My mouth is already watering..

Hi chiyosan! The first thing that came into my mind was balut. I think it would be fun if that's what I will give to a foreign friend especially those who are from the west. It would be interesting to see their reactions.

Now that you mentioned pinakbet, I thought about karekare! Truly there is nothing as great as that! Peanut sauce is awesome right! And there is probably no place in the world that does this, not even close!

Well, I am from Cebu. My family would invite them over to MActan Shrine. A great place to enjoy delicious Sutukil. or Sugba (grilled) Tuwa (Soup) and Kilaw (Raw) seafood. Even us filipinos, enjoy going there. Eating with the sound and smell of the sea nearby. Just great!

Well I personally favor chicken adobo, pancit and more like our very own snacks and delicacies. I would let them taste halo-halo, ube halaya, lumpia, biko and so much more that they will really remember our country. Now that I am living in hubby's country, I always prepare Filipino dishes and hubby does like adobo, pancit and sinigang. He is not fond much of sticky rice like biko. But he does favor a lot of our recipes and snacks.

I have some Canadian friends that visited our country about a year ago. Its their first time visiting the Philippines so we asked them to eat Sisig, Inasal Chicken and Sinigang. They really enjoyed it. For desert, we gave them taho, puto and kutsinta. They love everything about the Philippines except for our Mc Donalds here. They said that the size of the fries and drinks that are large are not that large to them at all.
