Haha! How ironic is that?
A few days ago I rang Jeyes. They are the manufacturers of a bleach I use called Parazone. Normally, I don't have a problem with this product but the last two have been a nightmare to use.
Why?
Because the pourer is seperate from the bottle, therefore can come out. And it DOES come out, usually when I'm pouring it. It's a wonder bleach hasn't gone all over ME as the last time the pourer came out the bleach went on the cloth and windowsill in the bathroom. I now have a yellow mark on the paintwork.
However, I stressed upon ringing Jeyes that I DON'T want to claim. I just wanted to point out the weakness in this bottle's design. For example, the Domestos bottle (made by their rivals, Unilever) is an all-in-one affair, therefore it is impossible for the pourer to come loose, unlike the Parazone design.
Anyway, I was annoyed when Jeyes sent me money-off vouchers. I said in my little questionnaire that "Why would I want to buy MORE Jeyes products when I'm complaining about one of them?" I'm returning the vouchers and I've said that I won't buy any more Jeyes products until they sort out this design flaw.
How ironic they spend time on the child-proof top but once you're in, the pourer pops out whenever it feels like it.
I have been told to send the empty bottle back, along with the questionnaire.
It will be interesting to see what happens next but - judging by how disinterested Customer Services were, I can't see the changes being implemented anytime soon.
Oh, well, I shall have to carry on purchasing Domestos instead.

Now that stinks. Who would want bleach all over the place. It is either a defect or like you said a very bad design. I have had things like that happen to me. One time I had a can of Coca Cola, I open it and it smelled and tasted funny, like a chemical metal taste. Well, I wrote to Coke, they sent a cylinder can in the mail, said to input the can of soda in question into it. And ,ail it back. I did. The about a week later, I received coupons for all Coke products, from Coke itself to Tetley tea. They thanked me in the letter and said they will test it. I guess that wasn't so bad. But There are products I stopped using for a stupid reason. I don't blame you.

I've not received a reply off them as yet. I'll give it a couple of weeks, then ring them as I want the design of that bottle changed. I shall threaten them with "Watchdog" a programme that highlights the dangers in products, poor service, etc. That should get the ball rolling!

This is always a Sad thing when companies take no pride in trying to correct something and instead try to send you Vouchers for $$ off, or a Free product instead of fixing the product itself. Instead would it not be better to take the complaints to heart and fix the item and make sure everyone is HAPPY? Probably in the long run that would have been the cheaper thing as well. But I am sure in the end all justice will continue to prevail.

They won't like the fact I'm using a rival bleach but that's their fault.

LOL. I agree that it is a weird way to take care of the problem. I would go ahead and accept also and see how it goes the next time around.

They didn't even send me a parcel for the empty bleach bottle. John had to bring me one from work.
Oh well, at least the postage is free.

That's what they do here in the US too, send us coupons or even more product directly from them. Not actually listening to why they were contacted.
They wonder why they loose sales... Name brands especially don't get it. When we contact them it is most likely a serious problem, time to take notice.. but they don't..
I hope that maybe they do consider redesigning the spout. Sounds like it could be dangerous for children after one opens it if they are around you when you are using it.

Fortunately I don't have children of my own but it's the first thing I thought of when the spout fell out. Little ones follow their mothers all over the house when they're cleaning up, I should imagine. For the manufacturers to put on a child-proof top without the same care and attention to the pourer is amazingly incompetent in my view.
I should've claimed shouldn't I but I don't have that mentality..just like to moan about things now and again lol.

The bleach went on the cloth and windowsill! It is no joking matter, because the bleach is corrosive. What if it went on skin?I am not quite clear what the money-off vouchers are.I guess whether they will sell you another at a discount or change the empty bottle for another and refund you some money .If I were you,I won't buy Jeyes products any more either. It is just for once for me to be taken in.
