Can't we just make more money..it's only paper isn't it?

The way our economy is right now...I just don't understand how we got this way.
Please explain to me why we just can't make more money. It's just made of paper how can we say that we are in debt?
Do you think if we make more money we would be out of debt..or is this something that we as man have just created in our head?

If we make more money then it will be worth less and a simple, inexpensive item will have a price tag so large it will be rediculous. And the debt would increase not decrease because the worth of a dollar will go down. It is a sad state of affairs but just the way it is.

Actually it isn't paper but a cloth made from linen. Whatever, it's still cheap.
The US is in fact just printing more money but without anything to back it up. That is why the Dollar is getting less and less in value. It can't go on this way for long. Sooner or later, the whole economy is going to collapse.
Each President is praying that it wont happen during their term!
