It never fails to amaze me what the great British public is up to these days. I know people are out of work and bored..but getting 8 year olds to Cage Fight as part of the Lancashire Fight Night, isn't that a bit extreme? What are your thoughts on this?

Apparently, it's not even illegal for this sort of activity to take place but it bloody well SHOULD be.
It's on a par with dog-fighting and I bet that's rife as well!

Yes, and I've not seen many 8 year olds on street corners, so I don't know where he's got that argument from.
Someone here has pointed out the lack of protection. Their heads, for example, are completely exposed. We don't even see that in boxing at the Olympics, so the same should apply in Cage Fighting.

I saw this on the local news! I couldn't believe it when they showed the video. Isn't this child abuse?
I think the parents should be charged for letting their kids participate in this. And all the promoters and adults that made this happen should also be charged with child abuse.

I agree but the police aren't charging anyone, apparently. It's all a bit bizarre if you ask me.

I love to watch World Extreme Cage Fighting on tv but I could never go see it in person. It is too violent. To put 8 year olds in the cage is just sick though!

It just looked like a brawl in a playground, which, ironically, education moguls take a very dim view of, quite rightly.
I should imagine there was some betting going on too. I've always thought animals lived in Preston and this proves it!

The Spirit of Fagan lives. But in a society which says we have no right to judge others' actions we have a society with no values, so it's hardly all that surprising.

My stomach just turned a little bit. Then again, it's really not surprising the depths that people will sink to a lot of the time. In fact, I'm rapidly reaching the point where absolutely nothing that happens that seems to be appalling surprises me. That being said, it is no less appalling to say the very least. The fact that something like this could happen...disturbing to say the least.
The fact its not illegal...WHAT WERE PEOPLE THINKING! The fact it was done in the first place....WHAT WERE PEOPLE THINKING! There are a lot of disturbing concepts in the world and using children for such a thing. Even adults doing it is dodgy but at least they know what they're getting themselves into. Children are being forced into things, with the process of adult entertainment. Sick, just quite disturbing to say the least.

Oh my and shame on the adults who are taking part with this. How on earth can they think this is okay and or charge for this. I hope they do put a stop to this as it is not right to allow the kids to be abused this way.

Especially when they have no form of protection..doesn't send out a very good message. I'm actually glad it was filmed, otherwise no-one would believe it.
