What was the first place that you visited in your own country? Did you travel with your parents? Or was it a school trip or something else? What do you remember from the trip?
The first trip that I remember took place where I was 3 years old. My parents and I visited the northern part of Denmark. I think that we did some sightseeing and visited some of the places in the area, but I don't remember. The only thing I really remember from that trip was the sandbox that belonged the house that my parents had rented
My parents loved the place and we returned every year. When I got a bit older I got interested in sightseeing. My favourite place was a church that had been buried in the sand. The tower was the only part of the church that was still visible and I thought that it was such a fascinating thought that the church was hidden in the sand. I wanted to remove the sand and find the hidden church, and I got angry when my parents refused to help me with my brilliant idea

Hi Porcospino,
I can’t remember any special place I visited in my childhood. I remember all those visits in relatives home and my mother’s place. In fact visiting my mother’s home was always giving some pleasure as well as scare because there was a lake around the place and which is the biggest lake in the state. In rainy season it scares me much like a sea with its roaring waves. When I was a child there were only man rowing boats available to cross the lake so it doubles the scare
. (Now large boats are available and I can’t find any man rowing boat there).
I visited a place in my college days where we went with friends; I remember we visited three different places including the zoo. But the returning trip was not good and our bus met with an accident fortunately nothing bad happened, all were safe with minor injuries. I visited other places in the country only after the marriage.

It is good to hear that you all got through the accident without severe injuries. It is scary when something like that happens, you think you are going to have a safe journey home and then you suddenly find yourself in a middle of an accident. Your story about your mother's place made me think about the house where my great-grandfather lived. I was scared of that place when I was a child, because his house was very dark and full of old things.

I do not remember the first place I visited in my home country but I remember for overseas. It was Calais in Northern France with my mom and my sister. We lived in Kent and often popped over to France. I remember being in a taxi in London with my mom, dad and sister. I don't remember how old I was.

I spent four months living in the Netherlands. I was able to visit Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg. I miss my trips to France and now live close to Wales. It is superb that there is a bridge from Denmark to Sweden and Germany is place you visited a lot as a child. Living in the UK makes me travel long haul.

If I lived in the UK I would probably visit France more often, because it is very easy to go there from the UK. In the Denmark we visit Germany or Sweden if we want to go on a quick trip out of the country. There is a bridge between Denmark and Sweden so it is very easy to go there. It is also very easy to visit Germany and when I was a child my parents and I often visited Germany together.

When I was younger, my parents used to take me on holiday every summer in our own country and it was lovely because there are so many things that we can see that other people might just take for granted. So many people choose to go on holiday abroad, and I don't understand why people would do that when there are so many lovely things that they would be able to see on their doorstep if they just chose to give it a chance. In addition to this, holidays within your own country are often a lot cheaper than abroad, and can be just as much fun and often less stressful.

A lot of people think that it is boring to visit their own country, but I don't agree, I think there are a lot a interesing to place to explore within my own country especially some of the small islands (we have more than 400 islands) I would say that I know my country quite well, my parents and I often visited different parts of Denmark together and my friends and I also like to drive around in our country and visit different places, but there are still places in my own country that I want to visit one day. It is true that it is a lot cheaper to visit places in our own country and when we travel in our own country it is easier to visit some new places without spending a lot of money on plane tickets etc.

The first place I visited was with my classmates which was Cannanore. One nun had accompanied us. It was a two day trip and we had a real good time. We stayed in the convent and made a lot of noise!
. We had to travel by train and in the train we were singing. I had never eaten in front of a nun which we had to do during this trip!

It sounds like you and your classmates really enjoyed the trip. I have never been to a convent or met a nun. There are some converts in my country, but there are not as many as there were in the past when catholicism was the main religion.
