Not wearing makeup..

I'm not the type of girl that always needs a ton of makeup to leave the house. My daily routine consists of putting on a powder foundation and bronzer. Nothing crazy, but just a little something to brighten up my face. Every once in a while I'll wear eyeliner and mascara. Putting on makeup just takes too much time and sometimes I just don't feel like going through the hassle of it. Also, I've seen people that wear eyeliner all the time every day, and then if they don't wear it one day they look terrible. I don't want to have to rely on makeup to always make me look good and I don't want to worry that I look bad if I'm not wearing any. Well, my mom always makes these little digs at me about not wearing makeup. I used to put on eyeliner a lot and now that I don't she says things like "Oh, you used to look so good when you would wear it". Or she just mentions how I don't wear makeup and to me it's just a little rude. Then today when we were at the store and I got mistaken for being in high school, my mom said that the lady probably thought that because I "don't wear makeup". I hate these comments and I always feel like she's criticizing me somehow. Not just about makeup, but about other things too. Sorry I'm not the type of person that looks like a Barbie doll all the time. I'd rather look really good with just a bit of makeup and then look even better when I actually do use more makeup. I don't want to great with makeup and then have people scared of my face when they see me without it lol.

Haha! I am an avid makeup-wearer. I wear foundation, sometimes bronzer (usually just in the summer) and eyeliner and mascara is a staple as well. It started when I was... 13 or 14 and I can't say I haven't gone a DAY without it, because I have, and when I do..my eyes look like little pee-holes in the snow! (Or whatever the saying is). If you can get away with not wearing makeup - more power to ya. And like you said, you'll look extra great with makeup on when people aren't used to seeing you in it every day. I think it's kind of wrong for your mom to make little comments to you about that. It's weird, because my mom is the EXACT opposite - and I don't even wear THAT much makeup (compared to some, that is) - she will ALWAYS give me a hard time about being more "natural". *shrugs*

Hahhaha I can't stop laughing about the little pee holes in the snow! I don't think makeup is bad or anything, but people shouldn't really tell you what you shouldn't and shouldn't do. I prefer to look a bit more natural and only get really done up if I feel like it. When I used to wear eyeliner just about everyday, I started to notice that when I didn't wear it my eyes would look tired and awful. So now, I try to limit how often I wear eyeliner. I still put on a powder foundation and bronzer though.

About the only makeup I ever used was lipstick, and I haven't used that in about 40 years. My husband doesn't really like me to wear it and I hate the time and expense of messing with it. Now that my hair is getting gray, though, my eyebrows are starting to be partly invisible as they get gray, so i'm thinking about using something that will bring them back. I am hardly ever in public anymore, so I don't worry about it too much as long as Hubby loves me as I am. My mom did keep on me about makeup when I was younger, and at various times in my life I've had friends who sold it try to use it on me and I bought a few things, but I just never got in the habit of using it. There are too many other things to do without using precious time to stand in front of a mirror.

It is definitely annoying to put on, but once you get the hang of it then it's not so bad. I've slowly started to get away from makeup just because I don't want to need something to make me feel pretty, I think I should be fine just the way I am. Honestly, I think guys like the natural look better than a cake face with layers of makeup. For me, it's too much of a hassle and it's not like I'm trying to impress anybody when I leave the house lol

I know my husband is turned off if he sees layers of makeup on a woman. I've always thought if makeup was noticeable, except for a bit of lipstick, it was too much.

I have sensitive skin so make up is a big no for me. I seldom use powder, it might irritate my skin and will give me rash. Good thing I don't have any problem with acne and other blemishes. I also use natural method when it comes to cleansing, like scrubbing my face with lemon and brown sugar. have a good day

Me too, I have a very sensitive skin. even products that are branded "for sensitive skin", I still react badly. But once in a while I try to use make up, I just had to make sure that it won't last long in my face (5-6 hours max. Then 3 months ago, I tried an herbal facial wash, they said it's good for oily skin (which I have), and after a week, acne started to appear on my forehead! so I stopped, but the acne didn't stop, it appeared all over my face! It's been 2months that I have been going back and forth to my dermatologist, most of the acne were gone, but the process is painful (not to mention expensive!). I probably still have to go back twice for my face to be clean again. And this time, I really swear I won't try any new products again. And oh, I'm also fond of natural products, I make my own scrubs, and my husband loves it too. =)

Some people have that wrong impression that wearing make up would make one look glamorous and all. But, on the contrary, it doesn't especially when you are still at a very young age. I only started using make up (lipstick , face powder and eye shadow) when I was already working. Just to make me look more matured and professional compared to my face bare of any make up that makes me look like a school girl. Who would take me seriously if I look like that? But , if I have a choice I'd go from less to no make up. Enjoy your youthful, natural glow, dear while you are still young. Take advantage of it. Make ups are for older women who need their faces always made up to look presentable.

Thank you :) I really do try and stay away from it as much as possible. Maybe when I'm older and have a career I'll start to wear it more. Like you said, it definitely makes a woman look more professional.

I can understand you! I used to get that comments too. That I look not too mature because I don't wear makeup and blah blah. I just sometimes hate women who wear too much make up everyday and those who are so vain. It just shows that they rely too much on those kinds of stuff.

I' not much of a make up person, I hardly ever wear make up unless it's a wedding and my Mum if she's lucky forces me to put a bit of lipstick and eye liner. I prefer to look all natural because it's the beauty inside that counts. People who excessively use make up look fake, I remember seeing these girls from my school wearing heaps of make up and they looked like clowns! But it's amazing how much make up and transform your face. It's like her those imperfections and pimples are gone! Unless it rains and all that make up begins to drip off your face. I find make up a bit of a hassle because you always have to re apply when you're out so I just simple chuck on some pearl cream on my cheeks and that's about it for me.

I agree, girls with tons of makeup just seem to be really fake. For every day I usually just put on a light powder foundation with some bronzer. Nothing over the top, just enough to give my face a brighter look. Only if I go somewhere nice or out with my boyfriend I'll add a little more like maybe some eyeliner or mascara. It's much simpler to go with the natural look and not have to worry about messing up your makeup all day.

I use makeup only on some special occasions. It feels weary to do make up all the time but face cleansing is important. I mostly use whitening lotions for giving a fair look to my face or sometimes put on some powder foundation like you do. I live in hot climate so I guess this is essential for looking fresh. Its not about looking beautiful and fair but everyone or every girl need to look fresh in that extreme heat.

I actually hardly ever wear makeup at all. I will occasionally put on a little bit of makeup, but it really doesn't happen very often at all. For one reason or another, I was just never really into makeup. It's not really my thing.

I'm the opposite. I always like to wear make-up because if I don't, I feel like I'm not really dressed. It's just the way I am. I have a lot of blemishes to cover and I just think I look better with make-up.

I am the same too. I don't usually wear make ups and my every day routine is to put on my toner, then moisturiser and sun block and then I am done. I love make ups but don't wear them all the time.

I think girls look wayy better when they are naturally good looking instead of having to cover up with a bunch of make up. Some girls like to wear alot of it and they look good, but i don't think it is necessary. Just do what you want and don't care what others think, unless your very self conscience, which it sounds like your not.

I also wear less make up.I just put on powder, lip stick and lip gloss and sometimes i just put lipgloss. As long as my hair is rightly fixed then it's okay with me.But when the need arises, like if I have to go for occassions,I do wear heavy make-ups but for everyday basis,it is a no-no.Because I cannot stand the smell of foundation on my face,it makes me nostalgic and mascara makes my eyes teary..;D
