Have you ever posted an ad on Craigslist

and it didn't show up?
I posted an ad yesterday, or should I say I tried to post one. After completing all the necessary steps to post it, I checked Craigslist directly to make sure it was there. What can I say? It's a habit I've learned to do. I've posted a few ads on there over the years and know better than to take craigslist word (or rather the link they give) that say it's been posted. However, I couldn't find it, even with using the search engine that is on there. I made sure to wait the 15 minutes it might take to post and ended up checking for over 2 hours. My posting wasn't there...
I wound up doing a search online as to why it wasn't showing up and found this: http://reviews411.wordpress.com/2008/05/12/craigslist-ad-not-showing-up-its-called-ad-ghosting/
Apparently, my ad has been ghosted and I've been labeled a spammer. I think it may be because I've had ads that were flagged before. Most of these ads weren't my ads, but ads I posted (and reposted after they were flagged) for my neighbor. However, craigslist probably doesn't know that (even though I did state it in the ads) and now it looks as though I'm banned from there.
So, what about you? Have you ever posted an ad on craigslist or any other site for that matter? Do you take time to make sure that it actually gets listed? Or do you just figure that it's there?

Wow thanks sacmom..I have only posted two items, which still haven't sold, but I do check to make sure it is there. This is good to know, because I was going to repost these items again and this info is important, just in case I have a problem..

I did repost before it expired one time, only because I lowered the price, but now I will wait. I have a question though, since this is my first time in selling on craigslist, will I get an e-mail that tells me it expired, or do I have to sign into my account?

I have posted a ton so stuff with craigslist, all of it successfully. When my husband and I thought that we were going to have to sell our house and move in with my parents, we started to downsize. We got rid of the weight bench, that extra tv that never got hooked up, tools that had never been used. All items were picked up rather quickly and no one even really haggled over the posted price. luckily, a job opened up and I got hired on. That money that we made held us over until my first paycheck.

Wow. I've never heard that. Very interesting. Good to protect us against the spammers, but not good when we are legitimate.
