Having Fun and Changing the World.

Often when we talk about fun, or doing things just for fun, we talk about it in a dismissive way as if fun isn't important. We tend to value hard work and seriousness, and we forget to pay our respects to the equally important, light side of life. This is ironic because we all know the feeling of euphoria that follows a good burst of laughter, and how it leaves us less stressed, more openhearted, and more ready to reach out to people. We are far more likely to walk down the street smiling and open after we've had a good laugh, and this tends to catch on, inspiring smiles from the people we pass who then positively influence everyone they encounter. Witnessing this kind of chain reaction makes you think that having fun might be one of our most powerful tools for changing the world. Do you agree?

Yes...and it's also a tool for healing...they say laughter is the best medicine and they have proved that if someone has a good laugh they feel physically better too....

I do agree. Having fun is really important. Obviously it's important to work hard and be serious when we need to be but if we make a point of having fun, we can enjoy life more and deal with difficult things more easily. Personally, I think I'm lucky because I happen to have a job where I get to have lots of fun!

My "job" is playing with kids! I get on well with all my colleagues and two of them, I consider two of my best friends. The only problem with my job is that most of what I do, I do as a volunteer! Everyone I work with is usually happy. It's hard not to be!

Hi pumpkinjam, You are lucky if you have such a workplace and not a lot of people can say that. Having said that I do feel that things are improving and some companies are beginning to see the importance of a happy workforce. Thank you for sharing. Blessings.

This is one reason why having pets is so good, if you can start your day with a smile or a laugh at your dog you will find your whole day starts out on the right foot no matter what follows. Laughter can heal, try it.

The world or life in general is hard and to be serious all the time makes it harder. So let's take time to chill and see the lighter side of things. Have time to lay back, have fun, to laugh your heart out and to love.

Hi Pose: I agree with you. I think that when we have a good attitude, even if is just a smile, this simple act make things look better and when we are in a happy mood we are ready to help someone in need and care more about what is happening around us. People who are usually feeling angry just point the negative things, not the positive ones and are more aggressive. So yes I think that having fun is good to change the world. ALVARO

Hi starsailover, Thank you for your response and we agree. Every morning we should plan to be happy and have a good day. Say, "it is my intention to have a good day and to be happy today" See yourself smiling and even have a laugh. We would be a happier people and the world a much better place. Blessings.
