For the past few days, I've been avoiding the news about the people getting into hard times after the typhoon, It's just too horrible to see. I am not ashamed but just doesn't feel right, these problems when it comes to lacking in infrastructures.
Experts say that those areas are low and prone to floods, and the use of deep well lessen the support of the land being more prone to water. lastly, People's lack of discipline n throwing trash is another reason for this. and not just the damns release of water
.
I can say that the help is not enough as their are more damsels out there than those trying to help each other in moving on after the typhoon.
I just can't bear to watch those victims. because simply there's nothing I can do about them. but with the tragedy, i realized how blessed I am because not only we weren't that much affect and only brownouts, we are not experiencing floods.
This was just done by one strong typhoon, Just can't imagine if it's Earth-Quake and Tsunami's that hit those areas....nothing more to say.
we can say now that they smile in the face of troubles, but deep inside i know they are having a hard time..3 people like this

Times are hard right now and I could only imagine that their hardship would be 10x more. But we are Filipinos and we know how to bounce back. We find simple joys in every day. Perhaps one good thing that we should know that we are blessed is because of the gift of life.
I know we couldn't really give anything to help but we could always say a prayer for them. Further, we could help avoid this catastrophe in our areas by being more responsible without the need for officials to send our penalties. We need to be disciplined, we have no choice.
Have a great MyLot experience ahead!

It's really sad and stressful to watch the news nowadays, there's nothing to look forward to. Sometimes, I feel that the news companies are making it sound worse than it actually is so that they will have a higher TV rating. That's just in my opinion, anyway!

Hello stuckonu
(ur username is kinda funny, sorry) well, they want more people to view their stations so that it can get more ratings. that's probably why i didn't want to watch it anymore because it's too much misery, though helpful for people to take pity and donate, but there's nothing i can do there

hello LK,
We can never do anything when it comes to nature.
All we need to do is take more precaution and pray.
When nature strikes and burst its anger no technology can ever stopped or prevent it from coming and destroying.
This is really sad...

Hi LK! It's been two weeks that I wasn't able to mylot because we didn't have electricity....by the way, I'm from Hagonoy, Bulacan.
I'm thankful that our baranggay is near sea area so the flood went away faster than those other baranggays that were badly affected. Yesterday was the resume of the classes here in Hagonoy but as expected, we cleaned our school. We had more cleaning cause our school was used as an evacuation center. You made mention of discipline. The people who stayed in the school where I work show lack of discipline. Students and my co teachers were complaining of disgusting CRs in classrooms. There were full of poops in the CRs, some were with many used napkins. There were even some plastic bags with poop found.

I share your sentiment. That is also my reason for avoiding watching news whether in TV or online. Call me heartless, escapist, in denial or completely indifferent (which I am not, in my humble opinion) but I think I have my own share of suffering. I may (in the same regard with my family) have escaped the clutches of the typhoon but I have my own share of problems as well. My problems might not be typhoon- related or it might but life goes on ...and with it the problems of living every day (with typhoon or not). Of course, I would try to help in the best of my ability those who lost things that I take for granted but I have my own battles to face and my problems should not be considered as no significant or less important in comparison to the others.

Our government is just applying bandaid solution to the dilemma when they send out relief goods and then forget about them after the calamity. There was already a very good suggestion from a certain secretary Singson about compounding water in low-lying areas by creating underground water storage units. When heavy rains pour in, the water will just go into the compounding area and it will prevent the place from flooding. This idea was also proposed for dams as well. Building storage areas for excess water not only eliminate flooding, but also provides ample water during the dry seasons. I hope this will be approved right away because I believe this is a very good idea.

These natural disasters are the scarier than anything because we can honestly say that man has no control over them! Of course when they occur there is an usually an aftermath that can take years to recover from. There have been earth quakes that happened years ago and the towns and cities are still attempting to rebuild, not to mention the emotional effect on the poor folks involved.

it's really heartbreaking seeing those flood victims in the news. I can only pray that it will soon be over and that they get back to normal life.
yes, Letran i too feel so lucky, because even if we are always hit by the typhoon, we don't experience floods. Though, the outside of our gate gets some water whenever it rains, that i have to wear slippers and have my sandals in a separate bag to go to the roadside and take a jeep to my workplace, i still feel luckier than them.
I agree with all the reason for the flood. What i can say, is we really should be strict in implementing a good waste disposal in all our communities.
