While we were watching Eastenders as a family my son refused to believe me when I said that David Essex who plays Eddie Moon, was a huge pop star in the Seventies.
So I went on YouTube and found a great video of him singing one of his big hits.
My son looked closely at the screen and then looked at the telly where David's greying features were frozen for comparsion and said. It doesn't look anything like him"!!!
What pop stars do you think have gone grey gracefully?

I think Santana, Elton John, Gene Simmons, Paul McCartney, and alot of others have grown old gracefully. Most partied so much they couldn't if they tried. Like the Rolling Stones and even The Who. George Thorogood and Gordon Lightfoot. Meatloaf, Tom Waits. Ugh! They are tough to look at now days.

I think Meatloaf thought cutting it off would make him look more youthful. I agree on Paul.

Honestly, there are a few but, the one that actually comes to mind is John Travolta, the other night they were playing on TV Saturday Night Live and I couldn't stop to think how much he has changed. He always had a good looking body, but now after years of aging he is a bit more muscular than before, but he still looks good after so many years.

Vic Damone doesn't look anything like he did in the 60's, but he looks good just the same.

I thought about Mick Jagger too and then thought...nahh also. He actually does still do pretty well. I like his music but his arrogance has always kind of rubbed me wrong. And then there is is little sidekick, Keith Richards...not aging gracefully at all. Who is Cliff?1 person likes this

Oh yes..David Essex was definitly pretty big in the 70's. His song, "rock on" is still played regularly on rock stations. My daughter heard me listening to Black Sabbath one day and accused me of "stealing her music".
I said to her, "I thought you didn't like Ozzie?" She goes, "I don't and what has that got to do with this?" KIDS!! It was cute. She for some reason thought Black Sabbath was new. Aging gracefully? I think Steve Tyler holds his own pretty well. I recently saw Peter Frampton and he no longer has the long, beautiful hair but looks and sounds as good as ever. 1 person likes this
