Should I bring a gift for the hostess of my daughter's baby shower?

My dear friend is holding the baby shower for my daughter this coming Sunday. She has gone all out with most beautiful decorations and fabulous little gifts and with favors for the attendees. She has been such a dear friend to me over the past several years since I met her, it just came to my mind that maybe I should take a gift to her to surprise her at the baby shower. Do you think that would be appropriate?

It's certainly appropriate, and it would be a nice gesture.

Thanks so much! I will talk with my daughter and see what type of a gift we should take, I will make it from both of us. Maybe even a nice tea cup or something like that?

I think it would be very thoughtful to do this. Your friend may not be expecting it, but I think it is the right thing to do.

Sure it would be appropriate. There's no rules that say that a hostess gift for that is necessary, but it is still a kind thought and will surely be appreciated. She's been so thoughtful to do that for your daughter that doing something thoughtful back would be nice. While most people simply use words to express their thanks now-a-days, it seems the hostess gift has almost gone by the wayside. I think that is a very sweet idea, and it would show her how much you and your daughter appreciate all the time and effort she put into the shower. Have fun! Oh, and...is this your first grandbaby? I'm a grandma, and it's one of life's sweetest blessings!!

Yes, it is my first grandbaby! And the whole family is extremely excited as it is the first baby in the entire family in 18 years! We can't wait to welcome little Carter James with open, loving arms! I will get Carol a nice keepsake gift to thank her for holding the shower.

I was thinking, though, I can make my own greeting cards through SendOutCards and add my own photos. I can also send a gift from SendOutCards as well. I think she'd like a thank you card with photos of the party on and in it along with a gift from there. I will wait until after and I have photos so I can make the custom card for her!

That's a brilliant idea! I'm sure that she'll be thrilled. Good luck!
