i am encountering so many news about kids taking their life into their own hands. and i feel very sad. a few days ago, it was about a teenager killing his friend and himself in a mall. now this - http://ph.news.yahoo.com/13-old-honor-pupil-hangs-self-010051221.html what is wrong with them? do you think its psychological or really life has not been kind and good to them? do you think they lack the encouragement from friends and school teachers in school? is it the fault of parents?

This is very interesting. What I see is happening, is that the kids today are basically growing up alone. Either both parents work and no one is there, or there are lots more broken marriages today. I would say that the broken marriages are more like it. They either do not get the love and attention they need, at least from one of the parents. It is a sad thing to see. They probably also do not see a future for themselves. It's a shame and a waste of life.

hello inertia, it is a fact that parents are more busier now than the parents of yesteryears. but then, it doesnt justify that they stay that way. they should always put the children as their priority, not work only. quality time is a must to be shared with these children so they will feel loved and not neglected. ann

You're right about that, but it does hurt the family unit when parents are working all crazy hours and of course, when parents get divorced. That to me is the worst thing for the children.

Hi friend, sad to hear about this, parents must keep a good friendship with their kids and ask about their problems. Parents must watch all the activities of their kids keenly and guide them in a good way, it will help to avoid this kind of unwanted issues. Teachers also take care about the students and teach a lot of good things to them

hi vidhya, I agree that as parents we should all be watchful of our kids. you must ask them if they are happy or they got problems. ann

An economic situation plays a vital role in kids life. Nowadays, we always face a financial problems. When kids see parents fight, it is injected in their minds. So when they are in a relationship with someone and the other wants to break up then they became very stressed. Since they cannot talk their personal problems with the parents, they take their decisions in their hands. I feel sorry for those 2 kids who lost their lives from a useless and nonsense reason. How I wish they could think over the situation many many times. Life is life.

it is so sad for couples not to be able to give the things their children needs. but then these kids should have been taught of how precious life is and that there is hope. i try to instill in the mind of my daughter that God loves her no matter how difficult the situation is and that it is a mortal sin to take one's life. ann
