October Movie Plan: Classic Horror

United States
October 7, 2011 8:07pm CST
So being that it is October I plan on watching several Classic Horror movies and talking about them on here. I figured this will be the perfect month to enjoy lots of scary movies. Does anyone have a favorite classic they think I should watch? I look forward to your suggestions and I look forward to seeing lots of movies. :)

I can name a few classics horror movies that I love to watch around this time. One is Halloween, Friday the 13th, Night mare on elm street, and the Texas Chainsaw the original not the remake. Good luck and I hope you get to watch some good old classic.

sassygirlanne I hope you enjoy them as much as I do. Hey thezone, I love Halloween its a classic around October to watch. I like watching them from the 1st one all up to the last one where they did back ground story for you. They are slowly remaking them all like Freddy and Jason.

Classic Horror, love it Anything from Universal studies or Hammer (my favortives) I think you should watch John Carpenters Halloween on Halloween, there is no escaping it sometimes especially as you say you have not seen it. Then have a look at The Fog and The Thing. Halloween 2 is a blast as well and Halloween 3 although many hate it but its Halloween right If you want a good modern Halloween movie try Trick r Treat, it is very well done. I know it is one I will be watching this month.

Although not a classic horror in the truest sense of the words if you can get your hands on Japanese horror "Tetsuo" from 1989 you will be in for a very different and unforgetable sort of horror. But if you can't and would like to educate people on mylot about classic horror then there is nothing better than the 1930s movies featuring Boris Karloff. And talking of going back to the 30s you have to see Bela Lugosi's "Dracula" from 1931.

I Have yet to see "Tetsuo" but all reports are good. I do love the universal stuff, but I much prefer the Hammer era

Two of my favorite classic halloween type movies are Young Frankenstein and Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein. My youngest son and I watch them both and still laugh like we have not ever watched them before. While these don't contain any true horror, they are absolutely the best for a good laugh. Just grab the popcorn and watch either very good entertainment!

I just recently watched Abbott & Costello meet Frankenstein and found it to be rather funny, I like there "Who's on first skit" so I had a feeling I would like there other work. I have not yet seen Young Frankenstein though, I have heard of it but have never got around to watching it. I like movies like this though because you think they might be scary but really all i all there funny and a bit corny. But still a good watch.

Hello. This October 2011, there is this movie going to be shown called "The Thing". It is a prequel to a 1982 movie "The Thing". I recommend you watch the 1982 movie then watch the 2011 prequel. The plot revolves around an alien discovered in Antarctica that takes over your body by imitating your cell and hide inside it. The protagonist must prevent the thing from reaching and infecting civilization all the while not trusting each other because some of them might already be "The Thing".
