my friend saves half her salary

i talked with a friend yesterday and she was very happy to tell me that she is now able to save money. what she does is that she withdraws all the money she has during payday. after that she will get half of it and deposit it in a separate savings account, the other half left is what she budgets for food and other expenses for that 15 days. with the meager salary like mine, i think i am not able to live with just half my salary for the 15 days. this is a challenge for me to try. have you tried something like this guys?

im 22 yrs old so when i fisrt got my job, i was planning the same. but when i got my first sallary, i was overwhelmed with the sum cause it's my first time to hold that amount my entire life so what happened i treat my siblings everytime i receive my salary. but time came that my parents asked some help in paying my younger siblings college tuitions cause they're twins so it's heavy burden for my parents. so im now giving half of my salary to my parents to help them. soon, when my siblings will graduate in God's will, i'll try saving for my own future. i hope it's not too late.:)

At the moment, that'd probably be possible for us since we just paid off all of our bills, but now we are in the process of buying a house and bills will add up all over again. So this technique isn't realistic for us. I think it's an excellent idea though! I just posted this tip on another post, but might as well post it here too. Make yourself a daily budget such as $20.00. At the end of the day, what ever you don't spend out of that $20.00 you put into savings. So if you don't spend anything at all, you'd put the whole $20.00 into savings. You can save up quite a bit with this method! I recommend getting actual cash out though as your more likely to save it that way. The other thing you can do is have a set amount to save every day such as 2 dollars. 2 X 31 days = 62 dollars a month. Good luck!

saving money is one of the good habit and quality in me.my parents have taught the importance of money and saving when i was young. I also use to do like your friend. I use to take half of the money first and keep some deadline and i should use that money only. I use to take notes about how i an spending and what products i an spending money. In the month end i use to check that note to see what are the unwanted things i bought This month and i wont repeat that next month.

that is a good idea sanofer. thank you for sharing it. i will copy your style of writing down the things that i have spent and at the end of the month i will see what unwanted things i bought. i just hope i wont be lazy to write it down.

Wow, that's a very good tip! I have to know how to save money that will truly work for me and I admire your friend for doing it in her own way. I think that saving money is something that needs to be done. It's always wise to do so. I wish that everyone of us will get to have some savings as well!

i think it is just a matter of self discipline ronadelle! i am jealous of my friend because she has now overcomed her spending ways and is saving every inch of her salary also because of her marriage.
