The reason why I asked is where I live alot of people beleive that is like hoarding but the way I see it is that if u can use the product and it will last then why not do it I look at the sites that send out free product samples and the ones with coupons I mean am I dreaming about saving that much money at a time when people could really use it or do you think it can be done?

I've seen the show a few times and some of that is just insane. There was one lady who was cheating the system. Someone posted a link shortly after the first show that showed still shots of the show where she was using a coupon for bigger sizes of meat on smaller sizes therefore saving more but not legally. She also used coupons for more expensive cereal on cheaper cereal that was the same brand, so she was getting more off per box. I don't think they all cheat though. I saw the end of one the other night where the lady bought like 20 bags of salad. How in the world could anyone eat that much salad before it went bad? Some stuff makes sense to stock up on, like toilet paper and paper towels. But to buy 60 bottles of mustard? Insane.

I think it could be done but you would have to commit your time and effort to it. I do not have time for it.

Yes, I do think it can be done. I've actually done it on a smaller scale than they do, but I've saved wads of cash. One thing I do note about the show is how it's changed the retailers opinions on couponing in general. There was a segment on our local news channel the other day that I found interesting. Some of the local grocery stores are now limiting how many coupons a consumer can use at a time. The merchant they interviewed said it was because of so many people extreme couponing! While it is nice to use a lot of coupons, it's the retailer who has to sort through them all and make sure they go back to the companies for their refunding in the whole deal. Before, there wasn't too many people doing extreme couponing, but now since the show, it's changing the way merchants are looking at it, and changing their policies. My one local store has one woman in the office who does nothing but deal with all the coupons going back to the manufacturer. Another thing most people (as well as the retailer) don't like, is how much the extreme coupon people hold up their line and take scads of time. I still use coupons, but I do go about it a little differently. I save the coupon till what I want goes on sale, and then if I have a buy-one-get-one free coupon for the item, I get it at the sale price, as well as getting an extra one for free. If there's a rebate on it too, then it's like an extra bonus lol. One time I bought socks that way, and I had coupons for all, and bought them on sale. With the rebate the company offered (X amount for every 3 pairs), the rebate check they sent me gave me more money that I had spent in the first place. So, basically I got 6 pairs of socks for free and made a buck. It was like they were paying me to buy the socks!

I have seen it and most of them get carried away. I do think that if you can get it for free, and won't use it, do it anyway and give it to someone that can. I think a lot of them go over the top to do it.

Though there are a lot of practices that they show on the show that I would not say that I agree with, I have watched extreme couponing many times. The thing that I really don't agree with concerning the show is that I don't think that people really need to stockpile as much as they tend to do. I think if you can maintain a 1-2 month stock pile then that is plenty sufficient, the basements full of food is way too much in my opinion.

My mom cuts coupons and she uses them to shop and they're very good. Coupons are very helpful, but if you use them just as an excuse to spend money, you're not really saving money.

I don't like that show at all... though I have not actually seen it but clips and word of mouth. They fail to tell you about the stores they are going to allow for double-tripple couponing. There is no store here that you can find a deal like that so I think it hurts to watch a show like that knowing there are no opportunities like that here. One store doubles coupons BUT you have to buy 25 dollars worth of things aside from the couponed items and limited to 5 coupons. So no real savings there, as Aldi is cheaper anyways.
