This year , my main interests will be to have as much homegrown veggies as I can only eat raw veggies that have no pesticides. I planted seeds in containers, sometimes with luck, sometimes with not so much luck. I´m happy to say that this year it seems that I will have zuchinni. I planted 2 seeds in a container and transplanted them over a week ago in a hill where I had planted 4 more seeds but none had come out. As it happens, the moment I transplanted the zuchinni in containers, the other came out. I´m showing you a picture I took of the first 2 plants with one of the other seeds comming out. Yesterday I had to make another hill to evict the first inmates from their land[em]lol[/em.
I also have spring onions, leeks, tiny tomato plants and some lettuce from last Winter.
Do you do some planting in this season? I am in the other side of the earth as compared to most of you, so Spring is here!

It is so cold here and our landlord has yet to turn on the heat for us. I am so happy to see your gardening underway my friend and do look forward to many of your Springy, and veggie discussions.
I have always been a good cook but have found myself making a great many changes since I have joined your cooking discussions. Although I have always enjoyed cooking I have found that I have somehow re-kindled my passion for food, just by the many wonderful ideas you bring forth.
I swear sometimes I am in the kitchen getting ready to contemplate what to cook for dinner and bingo sometimes I remember the left over suggestions and voila we have a lovely dinner that day.
Sad I can't plant anything here as we do not have a garden here. I will however prior to early next spring here try some of the pot gardening you have taught us. Yeah!!

What a beautiful garden Marguicha, gave me so many memories of mine. I could see me sitting there and just admiring the flowers. I so love just laying on a lawn chair in gardens. It is like therapy for me.

Hi Marg sis, it is good to see you started to plant some nice veggies in your backyard. My parents likes to plant veggies at the backyard of their home. They planted many types of local veggies. so, at that time they harvest those veggies, it is plenty and varieties of veggies to eat. We loves to eat own planted veggies since we don't put any pesticide onto them. In fact, veggies tasted more delicious without any pesticide. And it is more healthy towards our body as well.

I´ll be posting pictures of them as soon as they get bigger. As of now, only my eyes can imagine their future.
But in a week or so, the zuchinni will be bigger and I´ll take a picture of a small patch of lettuce I place hidden behind some bushes.

This is one of the things that is so great about this site, we get to talk to people all over the world. Here in the USA it's Autumn while on the other side of the world it's Spring. It's very nice to know it's always Spring on one side of the world, with all it's bloom and birth, while on the other it's slipping into winter, with trees turning color and snow on the way.

We are in spring here in Australia as well and every thing is blooming!I always plant my vegies in spring but this year I have not planted any thing as I Am waiting to move houses any time the only thing I have so far is parsley. Your seedlings are looking good I hope you have a good crop this summer.

I hope you move in time to have a garden this year, even if it´s a small space. You could start seeds meanwhile or some herbs to go with your parsley in containers.

Winter seems to be setting in here. The weather has gotten very cool and they actually predicted the possibility of snow this week.
Although my roses are still blooming as of now, I won't be planting anything here soon. We did consider moving some ornamental grass around though.

We don´t have snow in Winter in the city I live in. That´s why I can have a veggie garden even then. But now it´s gorgeous. Plants grow in a couple of days. I have had lettuce all year and chard enough for a main dish once a week. It´s beautiful and unexpensive.

Well, we are getting ready to start the fall and winter season here, so that means that there will not be any planting for me for the next several months. I am in hopes that I will be able to grow some tomatoes and cucumbers next year because those are two of my favorite vegetables. Another thing that I would like to do next year is to buy a share in a CSA because that way we will be able to get a good amount of organic produce that I wouldn't have to grow myself.

What is a share of a CSA? It is the first time I hear about it. Is it an institution sort of thing or a business? Growing tomatoes and cucumbers in Summer is not difficult if you have a small plot or even some containers in a sunny place.

Seeing all these discussions about gardening really makes me want to start planting! I just wish it weren't winter now. Although I have a fairly large apartment, it is all carpeted and I don't know where I could put planters. I think it would be nice if I could have some veggies growing in here. What kinds of things do well inside during the winter? I should look into things like lettuce, tomatoes, celery, cucumbers, potatoes, maybe onion and garlic (but not much of them since I don't like them raw), carrots. I'm not sure what else I could try, but it couldn't be big stuff as I don't have much room. Any suggestions? Have a great weekend!!!

I loved your container
. I had to leave a comment there when I saw it. What kind of veggies do you plant? I prefer lots of tomatoes as first choice as the tomatoes at the super have nothing to do with the wonders one picks when they are completly ripe.

Are you kidding me ? Do i do some planting ? My parents were farmers several years ago .I had to go to our farm as long as i was free. Even though i liked to work on the farm ,anything couldn't be over the top, including running errands on a beautiful farm. Now my parents plant two tree in our yard ,which bring shadow for us in hot summer. They planned to plant some vegitables, such as garlics and onions in the first place. As our puppy's house took a a large room ,they had to give it up.Anyway, planting can refresh people's life .
Have a nice day !

I am planting some things even under my apricot tree. Veggies like lettuce prefer shadow and so do other vegetables that we eat their leaves such as chard. I plant grown garlic cloves in containers everywhere as I don´t have much land. It is just a bit of soil at a house in a city.
