food products from a company. I've had variety pack of Carnation instant breakfast with vanilla, strawberry and chocolate. I've had many variety packages of tea. Usually there are some I like and some I don't like. Variety packs of meat usually have different cuts of meat that you can try. I like the variety packs, then I can decide if which flavors of something or cut of something I want. If I don't like something, there isn't very much that I have to suffer through drinking or eating. Then I know what regular packs of the same thing to get. Sometimes I keep getting the variety packs because I liked everything in the pack. So do you like variety packs? What samples of different things have you gotten? Did you like everything in the pack so you want to buy the variety pack again or did you only like certain ones and that's what you will buy next time? Do you think variety packs are a good idea? If you had a business, would you sell variety packs? If you would, what would you put in the pack? If you wouldn't why not? Too much increased cost, labor, packaging?

I think variety packs are good, specially when you are buying it for the first time. At least like you said, you get to try which one suits your taste best, so that the next time around you will buy the particular one that you like. Specially when it comes to the cupcakes and drinks the children bring for snacks at school. It gives the children a variety of flavor so they won't get a dislike of it by having the same flavor everyday.

Depending on the size and or quantities, I do enjoy getting variety packs. But usually it is when I want to try something new so I can taste the differences. I do like drink varieties, and cereals varieties. This way I can have them routinely and not feel like it is all the same product. I have not really bought meat variety packs as I have not seen it packaged that way here, and also don't like thawing too many at one time.

When we get meat home, after buying large packages at bargan prices, we repackage it to single meals. The meat isn't frozen yet. Then put them in the freezer. That way we only thaw out one meal at a time. The variety cereals here, I wish they would have all good cereals in the variety. Instead they've got crapy ones. Cocoa puffs, lucky charms, etc. all the ones with sugar, coloring, etc. If they had a variety pack with shredded wheat, shredded wheat and bran, cheerios, honey nut cheerios, rice chex, wheat chex, corn flakes, raisin brain, then I would buy it. But they might have one cereal out of 6 or 8 sample sizes that I like. If they had all healthy ones or at least ones that I like, then I would buy the variety serials. What kind do they have where you are for cereals?

True I forgot about sorting them, but actually I do not recall assorted varieties with meats around here. I think they do not consider to be healthy to put different types of raw meats in the same packaging if I am not mistaken. I shop at Costco for varieties and they carry all types of together assortments of brand, fiber type and healthy cereals here. I don't eat any with sugar and this is why I like to buy them at Costco as the Supers around here only carry the way too sugary ones in the variety packs.

We don't have a Costco. I'd love to have a healthy serial variety pack. Wonder if Aldis would have that.

I agree, and I've also gotten them because someone else likes the other stuff I won't eat (pickle or olive loaf.) I've gotten the teas and learned I pretty much HATE any of those teas with fruit or berries except citrus (orange/lime.) I wouldn't bother with instant breakfast because I already know I don't like vanilla or strawberry, but I've been drinking it since the mid-1960's. Fact is that I don't drink it at all now because milk makes me sick 9 times out of 10 times I drink it, and I don't mean lactose problems either.

my family never bothered because mom knew that some stuff would be wasted, and when I lived with Maggie, she liked what I liked, but also LOVED what I hated - hey, worked pretty good...

As per usual, I love everything you hate. But it's great that you've found someone else who likes what you don't. I was just suggesting that to someone. Thanks and take care.

Varitey packs are great. Packages of teas, balogna, and the Carnation Instand breakfast are all good to try. Some flavors you wouldn't regualarly try. They are a good idea and help the companies sell more. When you see a new brand and wonder if it is any good it is good to buy a variety pack to check it out.

I'm going to have to find this variety pack of balogna. I have had variety pack of turkey deli meat or ham deli meat, but not balogna. Actually it's usually my hubbie who has the deli variety packs. Yes, I would think it would introduce people to ones that they wouldn't want to spend money on an entire pack just to try. Thanks and take care.

I liked the Variety Pack of balogna because it has the olive loaf in it and I like it.

I've tried those Carnation variety packs...Ew...I had to stop getting them because I freakin' hate strawberry-flavored anything. I've also gotten a variety pack of chips - like Doritos, Lays, Fritos, and Cheetos I think (they're the single-serving kind) and at the end all we have left are the Fritos - which no body eats or likes in our family. I've also gotten the Celestial tea packages that have all kind of varieties in them - I like all the kinds so I end up using them all up in a heartbeat! I guess it depends on what it is. If you don't like all the flavors, and the package INCLUDES that flavor, then I guess I wouldn't get it (unless you live with someone who might like it, I suppose). I'm pretty persnickity (sp?) about my food and what I like/don't like so I rarely get these kinds of things. But I love the variety tea kinds!

Well, then you know not to get the variety pack carnation and to get vanilla next time and chocolate the time after that. We have all kinds of chip variety packs. I wouldn't tlike the cheetos, they're disgusting. But we have variety packs that don't have fritos or cheetos. I wish I liked all the ones in all the packages for tea. I did until they started adding pomegranite. YUK! If it's all berries, fruit, mint, etc, but not pomegranite, I'm fine. So now I look for the variety packs of tea without that. I like Celestial Season's Chai Tea with milk and honey that I add. Bigalow has some good combinations except for the ones with that yucky pommegranite. Yes, if you don't like all the flavors, you know not to buy it again and what you do like. So the variety pack has done it's job. Let you know what you do and do not like. Maybe you can find vareity packs without what you like or trade with the neighbors for something they don't like that you do and vice versa.

I am usually not completely satisfied with a product's variety [ack sampling. there always seemes to be too many choices that do not get used. It can be a waste.

Usually I can choke down the stuff I don't like one time. Then I know what NOT to buy next time.
