A friend of mine sent me something that bothered me greatly.

She has this friend that supposedly can see the future. She told my friend that bladder cancer is the easiest to cure in the world and that one of my cats wants to cure me. What?
I asked if she had bothered to tell her friend that I was at a really high level and it could have spread all over my body if I hadn't shunk it with chemo or been operated on.
I went to some psychic readings. I talked to people who had talked to this woman. The supposed person who can see the future only told them what they already knew. Mind reader maybe, at the most, but she didn't tell one of my friends where she could find a certified kitchen so she could bake which is what she really wanted to know. Also the charge was $36 for a reading.
I used to go for readings that were $10, then they went up to $15. But I think this price is too much. I've also heard of $45 in this area. People don't even have jobs. Right now I'd just trade readings.
So what do you think?

Actually around here you will not get one for less then $75 and can be as high as $150. The ones I know about are in person type readings so maybe something online if that can be trusted maybe cheaper. I have a friend that although I have not gone for frequent readings has read mine before. She never charged me as I was a friend, but she is so accurate it freaks me out. She is a tarot reader who reads the full year, then let's you ask questions, which she will answer in depth. She then reads the next 3 months.
She tapes all of this on a cassette then one takes home with them. I was shocked the first time I did see her and oh my she was so accurate with a great many upcoming things. I try not to live my life via someone reading the future but found it to be intriguing, especially since she is so accurate.
When I first met her she told me about the partner that I would be with in the future. At the time, granted my marriage was wrecked so I of course was not thinking of any partner for the future nor did I set out to find what she described. So thinking back 20 years ago, my current partner is the one she described in total. I guess what I am explaining is that not only is she good with tarot readings but also some type of medium.
It is not easy to entrust readers as some have somewhat of a gift, in which some then utilize to their advantage to make money.

Wow! That's a lot of money where you live. I've never had an online reading. I've had tarot cards and palmestry so far. The reading of the palms is interesting. An entire year reading is cool.
Yes, a reading is one possible future.
this also bothered me because I didn't ask for a reading. They were just talking behind my back. She asked me if I didn't mind afterward about a reading. Since it was for me, don't you think I should have been asked prior?

Supposedly worried about my cancer and that I would die without advice or help from this person.

Yes and I would be very upset to hear that friends would be doing this without my knowledge. I mean I would get the feeling they were looking into my future and why?? Would that interest them.. I could see if a friend asked if we would go and they were paying as maybe that would indicate to me that they were caring just so that I would know and they just be there for company so I did not go alone.

I have never had a psychic reading, but I don't know that I would necessarily believe anything that I was told anyway. I do some psychic thing on FB sometimes just to see what it says....not that I actually believe it. I might be tempted to go to a $10 psychic sometime, but I would not pay $30+ for one.

Yes, esp. since there is always a disclaimer that says, "These readings are just for fun." $10 a person is trying to supplement their income or earn a living. Thiry or more, what are they a Doctor?

Yes, and I couldn't come up with anything crazier than that. Thanks and take care.

writer's...I am the "odd man" out here, I am guessing! I have NEVER had a reading, nor intend to! I have respect for those that do..and put their creedence into them, but it is just not for me...YET, I grew up, fully enthralled by the "visions" of the native elders..could sit and listen to them for hours! Take care...Cheers!

There are others here who have never had one and if they haven't by now, they probably aren't interested either.
Often, most, are mind readers. They serch your mind for the answers to your own questions. Often, they say, "You're blocked." Why? Because I'm extremely good at problem solving and looking for answers. If I haven't figured it out, it's not in my mind to find. A true seer of the future would be able to tell me.
Often, I've just helped out friends who needed $10 or $15 to get buy or enough people with that amount of money each in a day or two or three to pay a bill.
I would have loved to have heard the stories of the Native Elders. I would have sat "enthralled" (excellent word that you chose), too. I loved going to a Museum and hearing the story by an Elder of "How the Bear clan became the Medicine Clan."
