A free vacation with 7 strangers

Some time ago I watched a tv show about 8 strangers who spent two months together. They stayed in a summer cottage and they spent the summer in the house or in the area around the house. A camera followed all of their activities and it was shown on tv. It was a bit different from Big Brother and similar reality tv shows, because they didn't send people home and everyone was there from the start to the end. There were no winners and no prizes. The participants simply got a free vacation and a chance to spend two months with 7 people that they had never met.
What do you think about this idea? Would you like to participate in a tv show like that? Why/why not?

Hi Porco, i don't think i have the gut to join this type of tv show. I don't want to show to the world on how i spend my time in my daily life. I think we deserve some private time to our own without showing it to the public. Besides that, as a married person with a kid, i think i will absolutely out from this type of show although if the organizer is going to give a big prize. Just not comfortable for me.

I wouldn't feel comfortable in that house either. I like to meet new people, but I don't like the idea of living in a house where there are cameras everywhere. My privacy is too important to me and I don't think that I would be able to relax if I knew that other people were going to watch everything that I did or listen to everything that I said. My friend once auditioned for Big Brother, I supported her, but I can't imagine auditioning for that kind of show myself.

Hi Porcospino
Personally, I dont think I will ever feature or appear on any such relaity TV show. I am quite a private person and wont be happy to see myself and my life on air for millions to see.
But I will definitely consider joining in such a group where I can meet a few strangers, stay with them for a while - quite similar to what you mention but just the Show and TV tags removed. Reason being the fact that I love to meet people and learn from them. Yes, chances are that I might not get any good example to earn from but this entire activity in itslef can be worth a learning.

I can hear that we have the same kind of thoughts about this topic. I also like the idea of meeting new people and spending some time when them. I think it is interesting to meet many different kinds of people and talk to them, and in a way I would like to participate in something like that tv show, but I don't like the cameras. I wouldn't feel comfortable living in a house where there were cameras everywhere, and that would prevent me from participating even though I actually like the concept.

Even it is a reality Television show, it must have something to compete against with, otherwise, what is the point on peeking other people's activities in a cottage? That is totally creepy man. At least you do something in order to win a prize of free vacation though, whether spend it with a stranger or not. I might not want to participate it though.

This tv show took place before Big Brother, Robinson expedition and the other shows where the winner gets a prize, and I wonder if people would still be willing to participate in something like that today if they knew that they weren't going to win anything. I don't think that I would like to participate. They get a free vacation in a nice house, free surf lessons at the beach and many other free things, but I don't like the idea of being surrounded by cameras all day.

Your are open for new things and willing to try your best, I think that is a great attitude. I think that the people who participated in this tv show had a good time. They spent two months together and they had lots of new experiences together. I like the idea behind the tv show and I think it is a nice initiative, but I don't like all the cameras, and I think that would prevent me from participating.
