Do you have a daughter? Are you a daughter yourself? All women we start out as little girls, as daughters, or sisters or someone and then one day we are on the other side and we are the mothers, step mom, aunty or even just a good friend of the family that is like a second mother of some sort. Its hard to believe that a year ago I was still a daughter myself and now I'm a mom. Its crazy to be the other side watching my daughter be a daughter not only to me but to my husband. One day I hope to share that same joy of being a mother to my daughter as she raises her own child weather boys or girls. What joy my little daughter brings me even on bad day and I'll cranky she finds away to make me laugh and smile and remember what it was like to be in her shoes. I'm still in her shoes no matter how old I get. I know my parents enjoy watching me and my brothers raise our own family.

Yes, congratulations on being a mother yourself. Your daughter will always be your baby forever. This is how i feel for my children. I look at them and I always remember how they have been from babyhood to adulthood. A mother's love for the children knows no bounds. A mother will always be willing to sacrifice so much just to make sure that the children are comfortable and will be okay at all times.

I have been told I was daddy's little girl. That I would run and jump on him when he got home. So I did put a smile on his face. And my mom had a good time together too.

All little girls at one time or another are daddy's girls. Sugar not so much right now she is all about momma but that is normal at her age normally around the toddler years girls are all about daddy for the most part. But some times you get a girl that is 50/50 all the time.

I am a daughter, I'm an aunt and I'm a friend, but I'm not, and - now - will never be a mother. I'm actually very happy with this because I never wanted children. I thought my mom was a very good mother, and I was actually rather surprised at how good a father my brother was, not GREAT, but better than I thought he'd be. He's still a jerk, but he did better for his daughter than I ever thought he'd manage. I had been telling my mother I would never have children, and I was never pressured to get married and have them, neither was my sister. I tried to be the best daughter I could be while my parents were alive. I honestly don't care if I'm my brother's best sister...

I only have 1 niece and she's now 25. She only moved to town a couple of years ago, so I didn't have much chance to be an aunt to her.

I do have a daughter but I am not a daughter myself becuase I am a man. My daughter is the one who always calls me out in this world and the one in the world who is most like me. She is smart, pretty, and talented but she doesn't see any of what her mother and I see in her, but she has had me wrapped around her little finger since the day she was born and I am proud to be her dad, as I am proud to be the dad of all three of my kids.

Little girls mean a lot to dad's out there. It is a bit different a dad to daughter relationship but its still special. Children can never see what there own parents see in them. I know my dad is very proud of me. I'm his only little girl and now he has a little grand daughter that means a lot to him as much as I mean to him is what she is to him now.

Hello shybear, I am not a daughter but i have a duaghter and i think she is the most adorable daughter of the world. You know people who kill female child before birth in INDIA are stupid they don't know that daughters are the ones who really care for parents than sons.I have experienced it as my wife has no brother but when she comes to know that her mother/father is not well she goes to their house which is around 75 kms away from my house just to see her parents unlike me who don't care much for my parents when compared to her. Oh yes there is different feeling when we have our own kids though i am a father i know how i felt when i had my kids in my hands for the first time. That was a pleasure and fearful because i was thinking babies are too small i may not drop them down. And i can imagine being a mother how much pleasure a lady feels. I had twins one boy and a girl so i had double happiness at that time. But had it been one child i would always like to have a daughter not son.

May Be? But i don't think so in most of the cases i have seen that a boy after his marriage becomes less attentive to his parents not only because he becomes more responsible for his family also but i think they have lesser feeling than the girl towards his parents. But definitely it also depends on the kids how they are brought up that matters the most.

Son and daughter care for the parents the same amount it makes no difference what the gender of a child is they will still love there parents that raised them. Girls are no better then boys are. It all just depends on the them as a person boys can be just as attentive as a girls are.

Hello shybear You are very right that this is the strange feeling that how much a women has to bear as a daughter then as a mother.Although I am male but I respect all women who raises us and have the pain of birth of a child. But with lot much shame,I need to say that there in India in rural areas there are a lot of families who are killing their infant girl child just to save themselves from dowry but they should think that their mother and wife are also women.

Yes It sucks.Although here is also a law against this crime and also against dowry. But the tradition makes dowry necessary for some people and this let thinks some stupid and orthodox people to kill their child.Government and we all are taking steps against it but in some rural places it is happening. This hateful and shameful crime must be stopped.People think that these women are the base of girl, they should have proud for them.

I am my parents daughter and I do have a daughter myself and two sons, too. My children are very dear to me. I know for sure that a mother's heart is a well of overflowing love. No matter how many kids we may have, we will always have love which we can shower each and everyone of our children no matter their number. However, when we get to have lots of children, how can we properly take care of them well and good??? Each and everyone of them needs plentiful of attention, as well as, love. Then guidance and care as they keep on advancing in years. Moreso, by the time that they start attending school, more money and more and more money will be needed to finance their needs as they keep on growing up. So there is a need for us to keep watch on the numbers of our children.

It is good that in your country you don't spend so much for your child's education. Where we are at, this is not so. A child's education is so costly even at the grade school level. Well, our earning capabilities over here is really that hard to explain to you. But, it is never that easy to earn money over here. I am a professional but, although I did fight my battles well and good, most parents are failures over here. Good shybear. I am happy for you. Babies are so lovable. Our children are all loveable ones, really.

The more children you have the more love you get. Even though your not always with them you are teaching them about the world. You can't always have someone to yourself all day ever day its about sharing. Having more kids you have to share them with there brother's and sister's as well as partner and other family members. You do the best you can do. Each child needs something different from you. A different kind of love for each them. A child doesn't need attention all day every day. What they do need is love and to know that you are always there for them. I don't think a person needs to watch how many kids they have. For every person they know how many children they might want and money shouldn't be the reason why you stop having kids or don't have kids for that matter. School is for free in most place all you pay for is really just the clothes and the food. There is always help out there. Kids understand that they can't always get what they want. You have to teach you have to work for what you want. You can't always have the nice clothes or the best technology out there. College does cost a lot of money but it should be the parents having to pay for it all it should also but that child's responsibility to it as well. I paid for more then half of my education and a small part my parents paid for they help paid for my brothers as well as for down payment for my first car. Once 18 your responsible for your own life not your parents, is how I see it. Be law you are your own person and your parents have no responsibility over the actions that you do.

Public school in the US is for free its paid with our tax money and private school or a Christian school you have to pay for out of your own pocket and uniforms if they have uniforms. They do have children that go for free but they have scholarships that they have earned to get into. All children are loveable. I don't know any child that isn't loveable. It takes the right person for the right child to love them and care for them the way they need to. It does take two incomes for the most part in the US to take care of a family but it just depends on how you live your life and where you live as well.

I am a daughter of my mom and now for the last two years I have had a daughter. My mom was 39 years old when I was born and my sister was 5 years old at that time. I was 36 years old when my dear little daughter was born. She is two years old and was born in the summer time. She makes me smile and laugh because she is so very sweet and lovely. I am delighted that my mom and my sister live within walking distance of my bungalow.

Great Post! I am a daughter, aunt and wife and a have recently join the "MOM to a Daughter" world. I can honestly say, you never know what true love is, until you have your own daughter to love on. Makes yours day worth getting up in the morning. Now i hear myself saying, "God i am just like my mother." But i wouldn't have it any other way!

Well then welcome to the mom and daughter club. Well it really doesn't matter a parent should always love there kids even if they have a son and not a daughter. The love is do difference. When its your own kid you will love them no matter what. If my daughter was a boy I wouldn't love him just as much as I love her now. I'm not like my mom I'm a bit different in the mom area but I would like to say I'm kind of like my mom and I've learn from her watching her take care of my nephew as well as when I use to take care of him. Having your own baby is way difference then taking care of someone else. I'm a daughter, sister, aunty, wife and mom. all in that order. I love my nephew but I don't love him the say way as my own flesh and blood. I support mother to daughter, mother to sons, mother to autistic children and mothers to preemies.

Aww don't worry even when she is older and grown up she will remember those days two and still do them for you here and here. I still sit on my dads lap some days and give him hugs and kiss and now my daughter does it for him as well. It is funny and cute. You think to yourself was I like as a kid because its either really cute or annoying but you still love it. I'm the only girl of my family so now my daughter is the only granddaughter, and great granddaughter. She is so lucky she has lots of people that love her and want her in there lives. I just can't wait for her to be the same shoes as me as a mom and thinking to herself how weird its to be on the other side of the table now.
