In a rare leading role, noted character actor Dean Stockwell plays Wilbur, a disturbed young warlock who wants to open a demonic portal, in this film based on the classic H.P. Lovecraft horror tale. In short order, Wilbur steals a "black arts" manual from the local university's library and makes plans to sacrifice the college student (Sandra Dee, in her last feature film role) who handed over the book. The cast also includes Talia Shire. -Netflix I can see how this might have been seen as scary when it came out. I didn't much care for the color changing like a strobe light but I have noticed a hand full of old movies do that. When the Lead lady is dreaming her dreams seem like they where wrote when on drugs,lol Allot of older movies to me make me wonder what the writer was doing or on when they wrote it. The monster also looked like madusa's hair gone wild,lol. Not too bad of a movie though, it was done well for what they had to work with then.
