it is so hard to sit properly when i am facing the computer... I just crouch most of the time, or do an indian sit..which I think are both ruining my posture.. My parents keep telling me to sit straight though, I'll just try my best to do it, when i don't forget- I just get so engrossed to what I am doing on the computer, I forget everything else...

Yes, I agree. I can't help but crouch too when I am sitting and facing the computer.. Since the monitor is a bit lower, it is not in level with my face... I even raised it a bit by putting styros underneath the monitor, and it does help a bit.

I have a twisted spine, with arthritis in it, so i tend to have to change how i am sitting very often, even when i am not in front of the computer.I know that it is not good to sit in the same position for long periods of time, or even to sit looking at a computer screen for long periods of time.

No, I don't; not at all. I slouch quite a bit and I have a stool where I prop my feet and slouch even more. Sometimes, I dangle my feet and sometimes I prop them on the bottom of the chair. I lean forward, lean back and wiggle sideways.
Actually, I read not too long ago that the "sit up straight" advice may not be so good after all, since the human body is not made to sit over a period of time without moving this way and that. I think it's more normal to move around in different positions.

Yes, I do, because if I don't sit staight up, I cannot read the pages and letters on the monitor. My eyesight is not very good, and so I have to sit proper posture to see things clearly. Yeah, I agree with what your parents keep telling you. Try to sit straight up.

I do too. I do catch myself and set up straight but who knows how long I have been setting like that. I have always had bad posture mostly because of shyness and a larger than normal bust. Does tend to weigh you down. Hehehe. I set in indian fashion also on my bed. Hard to get into what you are doing and set up straight.

It depends. When I'm home, I would be sloppy and slouch. Sometimes, I do it in bed, so, I lay on my stomach. At the office, I need to sit properly.

I don't keep my posture when I'm typing, because I don't have good vision and I have to lean over to read text.

You know, it's so funny you posted this because I was just thinking about this earlier! I hold all of my weight in my stomach, so posture is really important for me to uphold in order for my body to look proportioned right. I've noticed that when I'm in the rocking chair on my laptop, my legs are up and folded and my back is sort of slanted, so my stomach is sticking out. So I'm pretty sure I don't have good posture while sitting at my computer. I should probably start working on it now!

I always try to keep good posture ....however in front of the tv I normally flop on the sofa in bad posture unless I sit on the balance ball!
