I Don't Know How to Stop it.

I love eating junk foods and drinking soft drinks. I often 5-7 junk foods a day and drink 3-4 bottles of soft drinks. I want to stop that habit but I can't. I am so addicted to it. What shall I do. I know someday, it will definitely harm my health.

I also eat too much junk food and drink too many bottles of soft drinks, and I want to change it, too. I tried to quit those unhealty things several times, but it didn't work and I wasn't able to stay away from junk food and soft drinks. I think that I made a mistake in the beginning, because I decided to skip those things completely within on day, and it just wasn't realistic. Then I decided to do it in a different way. Instead of quitting completely I decided that I was only going to drink soft drinks and eat junk food in the weekend. The next step will be one weekend a month instead of every weekend and after that I am will quit the unhealthy food completely. If it is difficuult for you to break the habit, you could do the same and divide it into smaller and more realistic steps.

That is a really good advice Porcospino It is hard to stop eating the food you love, so taking it slowly is a very good plan. Soft drinks are especially very addicting. I was once addicted to it, but when I read the side effects of it in the net, I decided to stop.

Taking it slowly seems to be a good plan. You cannot really stop it with a sudden. I will apply what you said in order to stop my habit.

Oh..! You are like to drink it. But I think its bad. Its not pure. We don't know which items to put to make it. For eg.: We are drinking mango juice but its not taste of mango..!!

Hello kaichoukebz, first of all, welcome to myLot. You know junk foods are very dangerous to our health. They contained a lot of sugars, fats, preservatives, and a very high percentage of calories. High calorie foods are very low in nutritional value. Therefore, eating junk foods can definitely cause some different adverse effects on our health. Some of these include heart disease, heart attacks, strokes, gallstones, kidney stones, bad metabolism which can lead to obesity, toxic fats, wastes, and even cancer. You should stay away from drinking 3 to 4 bottles of soft drinks a day. This is not a good sign to your health. You should be alarmed since soft drinks contained a large amount of sugar, so drinking soft drinks everyday can lead you to have a high sugar in your blood or hyperglycemia, which is the starting point of having diabetes. Diabetes, if not treated medically, can be fatal and you will eventually suffer a lot of complications like peripheral neuropathy, leg edema (swelling), diabetic retinopathy (eye blindness), impaired wound healing, and a lot more. If you really care about yourself, then you should right now start avoiding these foods and drinks though we cannot totally exclude them, especially if there is an occasion, party or picnic, but proper discipline is still the best way that we can implement in ourselves. hi:) that's harmful to your health, it can lead to kidney problem because of too much salt from junk foods, and in soft drinks you can get a diabetes. try to at least limit it to 2 junk food a day and 1 bottle of soft drinks, then drink a lot of water to flush out the salts and acids. then maybe in a long run you can stop that already. just do it little by little til you get there. Yes, it is truly alarming and it should be stopped from now on. I need to control myself. No one will help me but definitely myself only. I have to avoid eating junk foods and drinking soft drinks in a regular basis.

You've already done the first step. That is admitting that you're not eating right and you health is compromised by the foods you eat and you know you need to stop it or at least control your eating habit. It's all about mindset if you really want to stop eating those kinds of foods you can do it just opt for the healthy snacks. Good luck

Hello, Have you thought of switching to "Sugar Free" candy in stead of having regular candy or if you love eating chips as a junk food switch to Pop's Naturals you still get they saltiness of having chips but its a lot healthier. As for soda try carbonated flavored water, it normal comes in sugar free form and it has the carbonation just like soda. But if you are just looking for a jump start to your day there are so many healthy energy drinks out there you just have to find a local supplier.

Im adicted to chocolate, so I just don´t buy any. I only eat chocolate if someone brings me some as a gift. You can do the same. Don´t buy those items (I will not call them food), but have always at your house food that you can eat instead. Fruits are wonderful, carrot sticks to much, celery are some of them. As for drinks, I have plain water with some lemon juice and plenty of ice cubes. YUMMY!!!

Just make it easy to try to control before you eating any junk food.You would know that it's harm for our health and therefore it could lead to many disease.Hope you could get over this bad habbit and be healthy.Eat more vegetable and fruits,you would feel great.

I really do not eat vegetables. I think I am allergic to it. Haha, just kiddin'. I love fruits though. I think I need to control myself from now on in order to have a good health.

If you drink a lot of soft drinks and eat a lot of junkfood you eat stuff that makes you addicted to it. So you can't really help to eat it. They put something in it to make you drink/eat it again. So the best thing is to start eating fruit a lot. The more fruit you eat the less interest you are (your body is asking for) junk food and soft drinks. Also start drinking some water 3-4 glasses a day. Or tell yourself this: if I drink 1 glass of water first I can drink one glass of soft drink next. Try to cook things yourself. Mostly you will miss the fat first, the taste of it. Which make fast food so yummy. You could do some Atkins diet for a while, it will take away that feeling. Write down what you eat now and if it's hard to chance from one day to an other completely tell yourself you drink water first, next 1 soft drink, eat bread and vegetables first nex 1 junkfood (normal or small size). Fruit 3 times a day a piece. It will take about 3 weeks till your body will forget about all the junkfood and softdrinks.

Yes, you have to stop eating chips, junk foods, and soft drinks. It can harm your health, you can have diabetes with soft drinks and kidney problem with junk foods and chips. I saw your other discussion about you asking if eating too much cheese is harmful for our health. i think you have to think more about stopping to eat the junk foods and soft drinks before cheese because it is much more harmful.

How naughty you are! Why did you do that all the same if you knew they were bad for your health?! Very naughty actually. I think, I need to lessen my habit in drinking soft drinks and eating junk foods from now on. I really want to achieve a healthy body. I really want to achieve it badly.
