Ugh. I don't know. I wish someone would tell me. I live in the city now after having lived in the country most of my life and there are days when I so yearn to just go for a walk without seeing people and houses and cars everywhere. I want to go sit down and watch the grass grow without the neighbors' interference. I don't dislike people; I just don't like to live so close to them. I am not a social person so that doesn't help. My spiritual life is getting better, I must say.

Thanks for the reply. Living in the country like memeber mentioned below is serene. I yearn for same type of walks...wheile al the while being thankful I can walk. Seems as if city folk need time in the country. I am a more 1 on 1 social type than big srange crowds. Ever thought a Eco group living?

Yes, I've thought of it. I'm not aware of anything around here that would be affordable for me, though. Like you, I'm much more of a one on one social type.

Not that I am a believer in coincidence...but you mentioned above that your spirituality is getting better...and I noticed that you posts (alot) just topped 6666 to 6667...know the number of the one down under? I think many have thought about & some are ever heard of a site called ic . org fir international communities there must be 1000's. Yes it does seem like a bit of capital is needed. What part of the world r you in?

I live on the outskirts and I don't go into town unless I absolutely have to. The town has grown enough that most things are out near where I live. I have medical issues so I don't go out much. I have nice scenery from here and live in a nice part of town. Could be alot worse.

Sounds like a nice place where you live. Thanks for the post. I have lived off & on in the same place which used to be the outskirts about 8 yrs ago. Now I am about city center. I do like going to the old center once in great blue moon to see the people ;-) & stuff & have edible treats.

Hi godloves, I live in the outskirt of a small town. I love the the tranquil environment with many greens surrounding and the air is fresh. Chirping of birds is heard all the time especially in the early morning People here are friendly and nearly all the people living around are familiar with one another. We will visit the downtown when stuffs which are essential and not available here are needed or out of stock. We have to get good medical care from hospital in another adjacent bigger town due to the medical issues in this small town as well as in my place are not ideal. We have only three small private clinic only. I have to drive about an hour to accompany my my elder brother to follow up and have further consultation with his doctor after his cardiac surgery 3 months back. Happy posting and have a nice day

Hola ikbooi Happy Halloween with only treats. Sounds like you are fortunate to live in such nice country w the same people. How is the weather. You bring up a good point about having to travel for medical issues & medical issues in general. Something we all seem to do to survive city or country at some point & especially as we get older.

I love to take a walk along the beach and for a picnic in the countryside when it is summer time. I am keen on seeing native wildlife like black birds, foxes and badgers. I like visiting Glastonbury where there are many crystal shops. It is a spiritual kind of place and it has a special hill called the Tor. For something economical I recommend going to the library in order to get some books out. These are enjoyable and interesting to read.

Living in the city needs stable financial status. Not to mention the fast pace and stressed. I like the city life coz it's not boring. But I love the simple life back with nature where I can find peace and serenity.

I lived in the country most of my life and now I am stuck in a small city. I really don't do a lot in town but do go out riding in the country as often as I can. I find a lot of peace in that. My boyfriend does live in the country so I enjoy every minute that I can spend there.

I've lived in the city for fourteen years now -after having spent almost all of my adult life in the county. We recently moved in to a house for the first time in ages! yet when we lived in our apartment building in the city, it was a historic building, unique in structure and design. There was a "side" porch, which was actually on the address side of the building, but it was not the porch to the front door of the building, which often confused people who weren't familiar with the building - or the neighborhood! Our living room hallway ended in a door that opened to this side porch. Two other residents had units that also opened into a small hallway that led to this side porch. We put a barbecue grill on this side porch, and I also had two pots of tomato plants each spring/summer, plus a small pot of parsley, on this side porch. The railings were perfect for tying the vines and yet they were out of the way, esp. with regards to the other residents since nobody used that porch or door to enter/exit the building! Plus, there was a little "park" across the street with a bird bath and benches. People would walk their dogs there. This brought quite a bit of "nature" to the city. There was always the option of taking the light rail down to the Inner Harbor and spending time along the water.
