Pizza wars, the price keeps going down here to compete with each other.

Pizza Hunt, Dominos, and Papa John's Pizzas are having price wars. All of them are going lower in cost all the time. They have gotten to the point where it's cheaper to buy some of their pizzas than it would be to make a pizza.
Last year, we had bread wars where the artizan bread people were going lower and lower in price.
So are there any price wars going on where you live? Are there any foods that it's cheaper to buy already made or premade (like just add water or something) than it is to buy the ingredients and make it yourself?

I think the same is happening with pizza places here. Not sure about papa john's, I work in the same shopping center as one, but am not a fan of their pizza so I don't worry about the prices. Dominoes is like $7.00 now and pizza hut is $10.00 for a large pizza... So yeah I'd say wars are going on.
I guess also that more people are buying frozen, or making their own.

Frozen is pretty cheap here, but it doesn't taste great. I was making my own but large with all the toppings premade is cheaper than I can do.
Some places make better pizza than others. There are a couple of places that I can't stand their pizza. Little Caesars is awful. So I understand.

Frozen is good, well some. I'm not a big fan of digorno frozen pizzas. I don't eat frozen pizza reheated either. Little Caesars is good, except not really as a second or third day treat.
There's a place called Milano's about an hour from here, my sister and brother in law used to live up there, well my brother in law would sometimes bring pizza from them down here, and it was good even cold!

To me, a real pizza is good the next day, too. If it isn't, I think there's something wrong with it.

Oh I hope they're having the price wars in here too. Those well-known franchised Pizza restaurants are so greedy, rarely lowering the price. And not to mention that the looks on the real pizza was different from the commercials, so skinny and less topping, lol. I rather make by my self so I can generously put on the topping. Bon appetite.

They know that there are only so many people who can afford to eat out now and they're fighting to keep customers. We have so many pizza places, it's gotten crazy.

Competition is just normal when it comes to business. This really happens especially if the establishments for the same are just near. Competition is favorable for customers. These establishments will be offering their very best from service to quality of food to prices.
I don't often see stiff competitions of pizza restaurants here since pizza is not the main thing here in India. In fact, I am not even satisfied with the quality of pizza offered here.

Yes it happens around her as well as the $1 menu's pop up all over the place. I think they do this because along with the promotion their hopes is to get customers to order other stuff as well.
I do prefer to eat from home and home made pizza is something I do like to make. Once in a blue moon we do order out but just out of convenience and or laziness. lol

I like some dollar menu stuff, but it sure can add up fast with a dollar for fruit, a dollar for a veggie, dollar for a main meat, dollar for a drink. Still can add up to quite a meal.
It's like bread, right now it costs more to buy flour than to buy loaves of bread so people don't make bread any more. Soon no one here will make pizza because it's cheaper to buy it already made. Take care.

Some of our seafood is staying low, but some of it has gone sky high, too. Glad something you eat is staying low.

My husband likes the meatlovers pizza from Pizza Hut.
We had not had one in quite awhile so I stopped to get him one expecting to pay around 16.00 for this specialty pizza.
But I was presently surprised when I went in and they were only 10.00!
My favorite pizza is the Dominoes thin crust bacon pizza. Unfortunately those have gone up. Our local McD's is selling cheeseburgers for 69cents on mondays and wednesdays.
I think businesses are doing what they have to do dropping prices to stay in business. We are even seeing more sit down restaurants doing the 2 for 20.00 deal.
Hubby and I take advantage of that for a steak dinner. Deffinately cannot get steaks in the store and rest of the meal to make for only 10.00 each.
Have to admit it is cheaper to go get a fresh hot pizza than make one. Specially with all the ingredients I put on mine. And I am noticing it is cheaper to get a fresh pizza than even the frozen ones in the store.
Crazy how everything is evolving.

As many have said, price wars are just a natural part of these restaurants. But I truly wish that each Pizza Hut/Dominoes/Papa Johns would stick the prices advertized locally. Because some of my local Pizza restaurants are franchised, the owner can choose to set the price and change the deals, so even if Pizza Hut has a great deal going on, when I go to my local one, they might not honor it. It's the same with the dollar menus that so many fast food places offer, my local McDonalds for instance has raised all the prices on their "$1 menu".
As for foods cheaper to buy made, I am lucky in that there is a little sandwich shop near me that sells boxes of pre-made sandwiches in all kinds of varieties (tuna, egg, etc.) These boxes last me about two days, and it is much cheaper than buying each individual ingredient (mayonnaise, bread, tuna, tomatoes, etc.)
