Corporate attires

I'm so jealous of the other companies of the same industry around the city were I work because I noticed they were wearing casual attires. I'm so sick of wearing corporate attires because they make me feel old,no matter how stylish they can be and they were not comfortable.I saw a new office where people are so casual, guys are wearing shorts and girls go to work in slippers. I dont like wearing leather shoes,I want to work sneakers, I dont like wearing corporate shirts, I want a simple shirt, or maybe a tanktop.
My company does let people wear casual attires but ever since my promotion I was required to wear a tie. Before I was allowed to wear beanie hats in the office but now,I have to look respectable so I need to expose my ears to the cold office airconditioner.
I just fully shaved my head cos the companies president dont like my hair dye,
yeah I know, I'm not a teenager anymore and this is the real world.

Yeah they could at least have a Casual Attire Day. That would be fun. One day in a week/month where you can wear whatever you want.
I know some universities that ask you to dress up in officewear. Torture!! How do you expect teenagers and young adults to wear office wear with a smile on their face?

I guess she really appreciates all the work he's done so she decided to promote him, regardless of his tattoos.
LOL I don't think many people feel comfortable in corporate attire.

Big companies are like that my friend. They want to maintain a good image in their community of big companies, so that's why at our offices we are required to be in Corporate attires. It commands respect , those corporate attires.
Here in our company, we wear uniforms so everybody will be corporate looking. We only get to wear our casuals on Friday , but no shorts and other very casual attires please. But at least, we can wear our maongs and espadrilles. As long as it is decent looking , it's okay.

I want a change of a career so bad, where I can wear what I want to wear and what makes me comfortable, sadly my only choice by now is just to endure it, at homeI just walk around in my boxers and some tank top.,
Uniforms will be much more miserable to me, Thank god we dont have uniforms.

Well, as for me i want uniforms, so i wouldn't have a problem of choosing what to wear in the morning. And it's cost saving that way, because you don't feel like buying new clothes always.
But i really like it on Fridays, when we can wear our casuals.

Hi!
We don't wear corporate attires but our management is strict of our uniforms and color coding. Well, we don't have uniforms but we are required to wear slacks and blouses everyday (yeah, we don't have a wash day or whatsoever) and we have color coding to follow! Red on Monday, green on Tuesday, blue on Wednesday, pink on Thursday, and yellow on Friday. Friday was supposed to be any color but our new management decided to fix it to yellow which is very annoying since we can't wear our other blouses anymore.
Most of the times, I really hate it because I can't wear jeans and shirts which I am more comfortable of and also flat shoes. Since we're wearing slacks, we have to wear heels which is sometimes very uncomfortable especially if your work makes you walk back and forth.
But sometimes, whenever I see those gorgeous corporate attires in magazines, I would wish that our office is formal enough so that we can wear those corporate attires.

I think at the end of the day you need to go by the corporate culture of your organization. If your organization says that you need to wear formal attires, then you need to follow them. The best way to tackle this is to join organizations that have casual attire as the dress code.
Cheers!

No other organization will promote a highschool grad like me into a high position so when it comes to moving into another company I'm gonna pass, I have no plans on going to college. so yeah I hate the dress code and I have to deal with it but I can rant and complain about it online cos my company wont know,I just did this thread to get things come out of my chest. Or else I will die in stress

Hmmm.. You probably look so great with your corporate attire.. I think, you must love wearing it rather than complaining about it because you cannot do anything else but abide with the company's rules and regulations. I like to see men in corporate attires. They look so respectable.

I can feel for you I also hate wearing leather shoes and too formal attire. What kind of company are you working for? Why is it that you have to wear corporate attire these days only the higher positions in the company are wearing corporate attires and those real state sales representative but other than that wearing casual attires in the office is the norm now. In my office we can even wear shorts just as long as you don't look like a fool. I even wear slippers or sandals during weekends.

I see that most of contact centers employees just wear casual wear. I think the reason behind that is the company bosses want their employee too feel more comfortable thus enjoying their work I don't know about your boss maybe he just want somebody to dress the way he dress.

Ah, the corporate attire. the single uniform rule that makes us reduce to something more recognizable as a cog in the machine. I am not against corporate attire, however, they are also times when I want to burn mine and laugh evilly.
My style in clothing is comfort and I don't like doing things without the comfort of movement or expression. However, I know that when I come into the workforce, I must bend to the rules. There are times when it does stifle my imagination and my comfort issues.
I guess corporate attire has its ups and downs but I always prefer my comfort clothes. I am more productive in them and I'm more bold and inspoired when wearing them. Then again, it is one of the prices we pay for work.

I am not able to understand why do you have to wear formal in the office. If you are interacting with the client or a customer then that makes sense but when you have to sit in front of the computer all day and there is even no video conferencing, then why the hell is need to wear those formal shirts and worry about the wrinkles and stain on your shirt. And yes i hate those leather shoes.

I dont understand it neither but thats how my boss want me to dress like, she doesn't allow me to wear shirt and jeans anymore, I was required to wear formal trousers and longsleeves. I hate leather shoes with a passion, because of them I got callus on my feet,My subordinates wear casuals and I'm imprisoned in a tie. I hate wearing ties.

You should tell to your boss that your attire is getting you out your proper efficaciousness thanks to its tonelessness and uncomfortably, and your effective power will be better if you're free expressive on your attire at least from time to time. Still there are some attires models that can be really comfortable and pleasant colours and very official at the same time.
