Today I read the news and the headline is the 7,000,000,000th baby was born in Philippines. Hard to believe, there are already so many people in the world. That means to say that we shall protect the environment much more. We have only one earth.

Are you serious. Something need to be done. I support the RH bill or else people will have no place to live.

If this baby was your child, you might think it differently.

That is true. That is why RP should pass to avoid having many babies. No one will think about a baby if is not born yet.

I think its education. That what is the best way to decrease our population. Like for example. In our country. Years back lets say 1960s people get married at the age of 18 on average. But now its 26. Its because the more people tend to go to school the less time they are thinking of having a family. Just look around the most successful people has less children that the less successful one.

Hi youless! Wow. There's already that many people in the world?? I wonder how earth is able to hold us. If you think about it, it's really an amazing feat for the earth. And even if the population is not increasing, we as inhabitants of earth should protect and conserve our environment. This is where we live and this is where we get our food and a lot of things so it's just natural that we take good care of it.

yes there are too much babies here in our country, and now our government and church has this feud about something that concerns babies. the church is against using any contraceptives that will stop a women from getting pregnant while our government does not agree with it. the government is very aware that there are a lot of hungry children if the population gets higher and higher. it is hard to live in a country who has religious cultures as like ours. i only have a son, though i still one to have one more as of now my wife does not like to get pregnant anymore due for having a few miscarriages before we hit the jackpot. so she is taking contraceptives which our church is very against. although i can say that my wife has her own personal reasons on taking it. our government can not control the baby making if the religion continues to interfere in a problem as big as this.

7 billionth baby born in the Phillipines? By the time you read this news another 1000 babies must have already been born all around the world.The world population is galloping and increasing at an alarming rate and food resources are decreasing too. Life is becoming more and more difficult to live as commodities are getting expensive and the cost of living is zooming upwards making it difficult for people to survive.Planners,economists and environmentalists around the world will have to put on their thinking caps and see how they can tackle this problem.

I haven't read this news as I was away from home and enjoyed my three days vacation at a mountain resort. It's sure that this adorable 7,000,000,000th baby born will be set in the guiness record for it has set a new world record for the new born baby. However it's wise to control the size of population to raise its quality. Yeah quality is better than quantity. It's great and should be wished well if the 7,000,000,000th baby is the first or second child of the family. Happy posting

It's just like a family with low income but more children. It's sure that the kids will not get adequate diet, good education and decent home environment But if compared to other low income families with less children eg one or two I believe they can enjoy better living conditions as well as education

youless, what do you mean by "we shall protect the environment much more" With the 7th billionth baby being a Filipino, does it mean it's a Filipino who's at fault?
@youless (112123)

No, you misunderstood. I just want to say that today the population is already very large and we shall cherish our environment, otherwise the earth can't be good for so many people to live.

Thank you for the clarification, youless. I know you've a good motive. Really, all earthlings should endeavor to protect the environment. It behooves upon earth inhabitants to be contented with one or 2 children. Our point here is to limit population for obvious reason.

I also heard of this news from a certain news show on TV5. One of the Tulfo brothers (can't remember who) said that the 6 billionth baby also came from Philippines :P Link: http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/world_now/2011/10/7-billionth-baby-born-philippines.html "In the Philippines, Lorrize Mae Guevarra was celebrated to be No. 6 billion. The sixth-grader was on hand Monday for the birth of the symbolic 7 billionth....."

Babies are blessings from God. But when these babies are born with no chance of having life that they really deserve, the parents of the child does not make God smile. "But if any man does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever" 1 Timothy 5:8

youless, I do not know why and how the UN could ever conceive the idea of declaring the 7 billionth baby which literally rewards the family with a cake and free shoes. Guess what? The next thing we know, there is actually an ongoing dispute from 3 other countries Great Britain, Greece and India trying to disclaim the other including the already declared Philippines baby that theirs to be the rightful baby. I suppose we really need to ask that they protect the environment by not getting overheated with this 7 billionth claim and create another global heating issue. Hi! Really cannot imagine human population is growing so fast and the earth can only accommodate approximately 12 billion people, so, I believe we will be reaching the figure very soon because, the birth rate will increase in multiply. By that time, if human do not cooperate and be more organize, I believe there will be more cases that happen in Africa where many are starving due to insufficient foods supply. What I worried is every country wanted to be advanced and develop, and many have left from agricultural country to industry country, so, when come a certain point where the supply of agricultural shortage, there will start a lot of problem like starving everywhere. That will be quite scary.

So shocking at the same time alarming for me to hear that news. Mother earth weeps because of the bad practice of people. There is so much population here on earth. Before having babies, parents must see to it if they can raise the child properly; fully cloth with privileges. I am very sad when I see little kids on the street asking for a certain amount of money. My heart truly cries because of them. Parents must do their duties responsibly to their children. They must not let their children suffer from their mistakes.
