If all the Indians can get rid of corruption?

If we all the Indians promise to refrain henceforth ourselves from all sorts of corruption for the next 5 years, I am sure that India would be able to beat all other developed countries in terms of development in all respects of life and very soon would achieve a very leading position as a country in the world and this position will be retained by her as long as there is no corruption in the country. Do you agree with me?

And I hope Filipino government officials as well....but I don't think this would ever happen....let's just hope that they won't be that greedy and steal lesser, give a share for the country so that their nation will not suffer in poverty.

I too think the same. It will never happen. We can just hope. But you know what, if once they are out of corruption, then it will be hard for them to be corrupted again, because they will enjoy the life out of it, which is risk free. But right now, the power of money has closed their eyes.

I agree, but in reality how would this be possible. Humans carry so much negative energy around with themselves that I don't forsee much hope. However there are cultures in this world that have very little corruption, but they tend to be isolated and small. So there is hope for the rest of us.

Yeah you are right. But we all know, it is never possible, specially in the case of India. Because the people here are greedy. There's a quote- NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE, so we can believe that the thing which you are saying can be possible but it needs a lot of time. Lets hope for the better future of our country.

Hello DoctorDidi. The sad truth is that a vast majority of us is so deeply seethed in corruption that not many people consider it a purposeful initiative thinking about the country. It is a very sad state of affairs. Corruption has become completely institutionalized. For every rupee that is allocated for developmental works, just about 40p finally translates into work while the rest is looted by self seekers. There is an article of mine that was published in Technorati at http://www.technorati.com/politics/articles/society-corruption The task is enormous. As Robert Frost said [if I am correct]: The Woods are Lovely, Dark & Deep But I have Promises to Keep; Miles to Go Before I Sleep. The task is daunting & enormous. If I'm cynical, that's because I have loathed it throughout and have analyzed the anatomy of corruption. If, but that's a far cry right now, every one shuns corruption, we would be doing yeomen service to the underprivileged sections of our society because they are the worst affected by it. Don't like to be pessimistic but have too much to be convinced to turn optimistic.

Well, I believe all the good opinions have been given and what could have been said said. So I would rather liike to give a bit corrupted view point. Utopia has never gone down well with me. Life is not so simple that one can sit down and categorize that this is black and it is white. Between the black and white, there is whole range of colours. India is a country of a billion people and that I tell you is a crazy number. Corruption in some way is making this democracy work as it worka. It is as important as oil and greaae is important in the machinery. But, yes, the corruption has crossed all the limits and is playing havoc with so many scams and so many billions stowed in the safe tax havens . We should work to curb and control this pest called corruption. But to wish for India to be completely corruption free is , I believe, not a good idea.

Yes I agree with you. But all Indians are not ready to do this.

I think that is pretty safe to say of any country. But, part of development as a country involves certain people rising to power and being able to take care of certain needs that country needs on a grand scale. But, with power comes corruption. There seems no way around it. Many times I would rather live someplace free from this corruption and live simply and without much of the niceties I enjoy these days. It just seems with simplicity comes a lot less corruption.

Corruption is a global issue and the matter of concern as far as Indians are concerned is that we are timid and do not stand up for our own rights. After Gandhi there is ray of hope in Anna and let us all unite with him to make our leaders realize that we are the owners of this country and they have chosen to serve us and we have chosen them to be our servants. But this message is not being conveyed properly, anyway we are on the right path. There is another gem in Baba Ramdev and let us hope these two come together to show us the way.Let us all discover the Anna and Baba Ramdev in us. When we become courageous enough to make the political class accountable, corruption can simply be blown away, trust me.
