So, if your car currently have problem, whether it is engine part, transmission, or other mechanical problems that might cost you some money. Let's say, some people would advice me, if the repair cost is 50% over or equivalent to your car's current market value, you should consider give up the repair, and look for a new vehicle. But from other advise, like those consumer reports, if the repair cost is equal to the market value of your vehicle, you should consider look for a new one instead of waste any dime to get it fixed. So, what do you think? Which advice is more legit to taken in?

There are thousands of parts to build up a car and every of the part has it's own lifespan.
When there is a major problem of your car, it means most of the parts of this car are about to give problems too.
In this case, I shall declare this car as an abandon car or I shall fix it and sell it away.
Normally, if the cost to repair the car has become 50% or more of the market value, it is better to sell it to a junk yard.

This is the only subject I am an expert at. I am an expert because I never did own a From car. A From car is the best car on the market because they are the cheapest to repair. In case you are wondering exactly what a From car is, it is the model of car that always get posted on signs where parts are sold. From ...$19.99 or From...$99.99
When I got the part or the work done it was always $28.66 or $135.18; never like the From car.
I think the time for someone to say goodbye to their ole friend is just like being in the gambling casino. When your pockets get empty or you actually feel the time to walk away is now.
ps: new parts and repairs have a warranty. It is the old stuff that originally came with the care that will break and some things will not. Put you money on #99.

Hi King,
if the car is broken by accident
well i would take to the years. if the car have been about ten years from when it was built, then it is the times to find another one.
my car is 8 years old,it is still fine now. i guess i will hunt another one for the next two years

I have been buying used cars only, and the last 3-4 cars I have owned have been under $2,400.00. Because of this, when the car begins to have problems that are going to cost more than a brake job, then I consider getting rid of the car. It does depend on how long I have had it. If under 4 years, generally I will get it repaired--unless it is an engine or transmission or something really costly. Usually I am buying cars that are about 10 years old, so I don't expect to have them longer than eight years.
The decision is up to the person who owns the car. If they really like it, and can see themselves driving it for many more years, then it is worth getting fixed. Some people do prefer to have their car for a very long time.

Well, depending on the age of the vehicle and how good the vehicle is. If you're talking about a major engine repair or replacement, you're probably looking at about 3 to 5 thousand dollars. If it's a transmission repair or replacement, you will be looking at anywhere form like 1 to 3 thousand dollars. But, if the vehicle is like 5 or 6 year sold and in good running conditions, then maybe the repair would be worth it. After all, if you spent even 5 thousand dollars for an engine, you could still have that vehicle for like another 5 or 6 years. Not bad. But if the vehicle is already close to 10 years old, I would get an estimate and make a decision. It could be more cost effective at that point to just get a new vehicle.
