is Vampire diaries going to an end in season 3?

i am so curious to see how it is going to an end
is it elena with damon or stefan...
is in the end everyone's would happy just like in twilight saga
i haven't read the book yet, but anybody can give me some clues how vampire diaries will end?
and will the season 3 be the final season?

There is a difference between The Vampire Diaries books and those of the Twilight saga. Twilight is one story that is split over several books with a beginning and ending, the Vampire diaries had 4 books in the original set and now has another 3, the story changes constantly and there is no end as yet. That is in relation to the books, the tv show is different, it has it's own style and story, like True Blood, the basic story is the same but there are enough differences in the story in relation to the books to make it difficult to predict how the show will continue. In relation to season 3 being it's last, it depends on how popular it is, they have a lot of material to work with, hopefully they can continue for several more seasons.
