I don't have a dog myself but if I had to choose one over any other it would definitely be a Labrador, and the video below shows you why.. They are such a lover of life and give so much joy to their owners. I don't think the video is cruel at all. It would be if the dog was sent out on her own though! In fact Mango (the dog in question) can't get enough of the Newquay surf! I'm glad it's sunny here in Cumbria at the moment as I can "transport" myself to Cornwall down south where this was filmed. I've never been to Cornwall but I'd like to, one day. Enjoy the vid! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1hhaOEv2pso

I love dogs. But I myself do not won one. I just don't have the patients for it. But Labs are awesome dogs and loving also. My mother has a Havanese and she loves him. He is basically a lap dog. The one thing he does that bothers me is that he is always under your feet, I almost tripped a few times as a result. But he's cool.

Our cat can be like that sometimes but at least I can see her..on the stairs usually. She gets around my feet whenever she wants something but dogs can be like that ALL THE TIME! It would wear me out eventually. Friends of ours have a black labrador and I was watching them with her a while. Even at that early stage she was being spoilt and - sure enough, she's overweight now because they keep giving in to her demands! You've got to be really disciplined to own a dog, I think.

Don't think, you're one hundred percent correct. You do need to be disciplined with a dog. They need to learn. Imagine if children were raised the same way as a lazy dog, they would not know much at all. It is a to of work with a dog and thats why I do not have one. I think two kids are enough. I love dogs but I just don't have the patients.

If it is the Labrador retriever? I think it has great capacity for eating and the average family can't afford to keep it.Over here we usually breed Pekinese.

It could be a Retriever, I'm no expert on dogs...definitely a labrador though. Are they automatically Retrievers? I dunno lol. Such a cute dog..love it!

Great video! Thanks. We have three labs and a Newfoundland at the moment. Quite a house full! They all just LOVE the water! In fact Ruby will find a shallow puddle on the walk and lie down in it to wet her tummy, with a very satisfied look on her face! We holiday in the West Country sometimes but nowadays, you need a map of the beaches to find the ones that allow dogs. On most beaches, dogs are banned. Is it the same in sunny Cumbria? Here in sunny Essex dogs are allowed on most beaches, thank goodness.

I've seen dogs on the Solway, which is the nearest area of beach (well, pebbles) to Carlisle. Cumbria is a laid back county but it is becoming more and more..er..Tory lol. One of the best beaches I've ever seen was at Bournemouth and people were so well-behaved. No litter anywhere which suggests to me there's a fine for dropping any, which is fair enough. Didn't seem to be any dogs anywhere either, which is a shame. Ruby sounds like my kind of dog. You really must post a pic of her in a puddle. How cute!

Mango the dog loves to go surfing which is very surprising. A Labrador is one of the easiest dogs to train. The owner seems to be a lover of surfing and very responsible plus fun loving. I think this dog has loads of energy and is happy. I have got two miniature poodles called Secret and Magic. I live in Somerset and keep on meaning to visit Cornwall. Last summer though I had my trip up to Yorkshire.

That's really cute.. Labrador dogs are one of my favorite dogs because they're not just friendly but they're also playful and can be your best friend. Oh well most dogs are a man's best friend anyway. It's a really good thing that we would play together with our dogs for us to get closer to our dog and for them to build their trust on us. I think it's a good thing also if we treat our dog as a member of our family since most dogs are a really big help to us. They're the one who acts as a guard to our house and the great thing is they're a really good stress reliever. :)

What a cute video. Thank you so much for sharing that. I would love to have a big dog like that, but my husband wouldn't allow it. As it is I have 2 small dogs & a medium sized dog so of course having three dogs already is part of the reason he says no. Even if we didn't have three dogs though he would still say no because he said with bigger dogs they take up more time & need more attention. Not as easy to train...etc. etc. Not sure if any of that is true, but I still hope one day I just might change his mind LOL

Glad you liked the video. The dog was having so much fun and it rubbed off onto the owners, judging by their smiling faces!
