I'm Having A Good Day For A Change!

My new Magnum CD came today and Amazon are going to reimburse me 62p as I had pre-ordered it before it came out..and the price has come down. However, that isn't the main reason why I have had a good day. No, the MAIN reason is that I received an email out of the blue from a company called Vison2Learn. They are a well-respected organisation that sort out online courses for people so they can get nationally recognised qualifications. However, usually there is a catch and that is MONEY! None of the courses I have seen in the past were government funded.. until now! I have signed up for the Equality and Diversity Course. Now, I know it's not a fancy qualification or anything BUT (and this is really important) it IS nationally known, it's free AND it will be something extra to put on my CV once I've completed it..in my own time, I believe. You get a Course Tutor but everything is conducted online and via email. I spend lots of time on the internet so it makes sense to do this. It will also be good to let prospective employers know that I'm actually DOING SOMETHING to increase my chances of getting work in the first place. I can't wait for the Course Forms to come through the post so I can sign and return them! Have you done any online courses? How did you find them, OK?

I am delighted by the news.It is really a rare chance .That is both nationally known organisation and government funded, moreover online learning.Once you get the nationally recognised qualifications, your CV will certainly carry weight which is useful to your getting job.I wonder how long you finish it and how much will you spend on getting a course tutor.

The Course Tutor is also thrown in for free lol. My guess is he or she is there for me to ask questions (via email) and to submit "stuff" but I will only find out once it all starts. No money ever changes hands though..which suits me!

I have not done any online, but I love continuing education. I think this is a good choice for a certification because it is such a big issue and only looming larger every day. Good luck, and stay focused.

Janey, I have had most of my important jobs after I was older or as old as you are.

It is a big issue, you're right and the fact it's nationally recognised is all a very good thing. My only worry now is that I'm too old for the course but I should imagine they'd say so once I put my date of birth in, so (not for the first time) I'm worrying about nothing!

Hi Janey... Congrats dear old friend... Complete the course with huge success, good luck... If it is free, then the competition's gonna be high. But your unbound energy, which we appreciate so much here, will get you through with grand success... Good Luck....

That's one reason why I started volunteering at the Policing Centre... I thought it would look good on my résumé... That was eight years ago, and I'm not looking for a paid job anymore, but I'm still volunteering. Makes me look like I'm not a complete drain on society.

A few years ago, before my youngest was born (he's now 5), I was taking after work courses to improve my chances of getting a better job. And then I had to stop to take care of the baby. This spring, I wrote the school and requested that I be granted permission to continue my studies, as they only alot 7 years to finish the course, and I'm almost way out of time. Anyway, I've been granted approval. And I was going to start off with the online courses. I think I'll start this winter.

Sound interesting though. So this program vison2learn is absolutely free or not? I just want to know if I can sign up any computer course through this program. I want to improve my qualifications, and I absolutely want a better chance for my life too. Hope you can help.

The Equality and Diversity Course I'm about to do is free but I'm not sure of any others, to be honest. Here is the link to the website itself. I'm not sure if people from outside the UK can join but there may be an international version for you instead. http://www.vision2learn.com/default.aspx
