Expensive films

A few weeks ago I treat my wife and my daughter to a movie. We are supposed to watch the movie Puss in boots but I was shocked with the price of the movie ticket. It has doubled from the last time that I've watched in a movie house. Considering that these films are widely available on the Internet, do you think its reasonable for these movie/cinemas to raise their price?

The price is certainly the reason we no longer go to the theater. But like anything these movies may rake in money but the costs for the theater have increased over time just as our costs of living have gone up where wages have not. It would cost us $50-60 for my family to walk in, not including a drink or snack. We cannot afford that so we have netflix instead and borrow movies from the theater.

Today I also think that the movie tickets are expensive, especially for those 3D and IMAX movies. And usually you won't go to watch a movie alone, and you can see how much it will cost. This is why I seldom go to watch a movie in the cinema today since it is expensive. I prefer to have a good meal in a restaurant.
I love China

Prices at the theaters are really high. We have a couple of theaters around here that are a little cheaper and I will usually go to those. Or I will go to the first show of the day, then it is usually half price or nearly half price. One theater chain has a pretty good discount club. For every $100 you spend on tickets and concessions you get $10 that is kind of nice. I have a family of 5 and if we all go to a movie together and get something from the concession stand it can cost us about $100.

yes..thathappens to me too ..those cinemas just put up the price whenever they feel like it..or whenever thers a box office movies playing...
tell u what..take my advice..visit few cinemas just to find out their ticket pricing..so next time only bring ur family to enjoy movies in that particular cinemas only..
like my city.. all the cinemas selling tickets at 9bucks..only 1 cinemas at 5bucks..so i only go to that cinema.

Maybe you should only watch movies in the net if you want to watch free. Watching movies is a good way of going out. We cannot question the price they ask for every ticket since we do not know how much the it costs for the cinema to play the movie. Since you yourself said its widely available on the net, you might as well download it. If you said the price has doubled since the last time you watched a movie, maybe it was 20 years ago. doubling the price would be reasonable.

Yes it is. Now, every film is expensive. In my country, it is about 3 month when the price rise. I ask the cinema owner, and he told me that he or another cinema owner don't want to raise the price. But, the production house one. It make the cinema owner must raise the price to get profit.

yes I know it seems all entertainment has become very expensive, I don't go to the movies much any more I think they come out on DVD so soon after the movie is released or even on TV so I usually wait and if I like it enough prefer to buy the DVD then I can watch it many times...

The last time I went to my sisters I wanted to go to a movie and she wouldn't. Her and her husband went and she was shocked at how much they spent between tickets and treats......so she didn't want to go which is strange as she was one that went to alot of movies! I only go once a year usually. I prefer to watch them at home.
