Mythology is when people believe in something without any evidence and just just by believing what their elders tell them. These being easily believed and passed on from one generation to the next, remain in circulation in the society for very long times and become part of culture of the society. There are always some miscreants in the society who take undue advantage of people's faith and spread falsehoods and bad traditions in the society in the name of mythologies, thus putting the society on a wrong path. About a year back, some miscreants established a myth of Ganesh statues drinking milk and the rituals took the country like a storm. Similarly, birth dates of Ganesh and Hanuman, two Indian deities, are nowhere found in scriptures, but miscreants have established celebrating birth anniversaries of these deities and wasting time of people to earn money for themselves. Therefore, to cleans the society and to keep it on the right path, it becomes the duty of intellectuals to keep on judging mythologies in real terms and eradicating them if these are doing harm to the society. It is indeed a tough task. What do you think about it, my friends?
