We first need reform in Welfare to weed out those who could actually work but don't. We need an opt out option for social security with support for more small banks and financial institutions to grow and create private social security accounts that are competitive. Third we need to cut government pay across the board by 15%. Fourth we need to pass a budget amendment to show how responsible we are from the top down. If families can live on a budget and feel those pressures why not government? and Last but not least we need to re-haul the tax code with something simple and transparent.

How would I cut the federal budget? I would start with cutting social security benifits to people who don't need full benifits! Example I have a friend who's son had lost a leg in an accident in the 1990's. He gets full benifits even though he could find a part-time job and get half the benifits. He is not that bad off! I also know a friend who's mother-in-law convinced her doctor she was to sick to work anymore and got put on full benifts so she doesn't have to work again! She is only 57 and not ill at all! Then I would cut welfare benifits to some who should not need them at all or not full welfare benifits! A woman at work has a sister who likes to quit jobs, for no reason at all, so she can stay on welfare! She has 3 kids and is not married! I would cut her off and never let her back on! This woman is a worthless person! Then I would try yo stop all thos stupid "pork"projects some senaters get their states don't need! that is some of the things I would love to do!

We have the same problem here in Australia and I say they should start from the top, cut most of the politicians perks and freebys, cut back on all their travel and lavish dinners, they have the technology to set up converence calls on the internet, add up all the politicians, all their perks, freebys, airfairs, hotel bills, lavish dinners and I think it would be a good place to start before they start cutting back on the people they are working for...

For America, I would bring the troops home and close all of the over seas military bases. This isn't the age of imperialism anymore and we have no right to be policing the world at this point. Another thing that I believe would greatly help is to lower regulations on businesses so that the ones who outsourced would come back and that would open jobs up. If you look at how much we boomed pre-1920s, it was because of lower government regulations. Sure someone can come at me with some Upton Sinclair argument, but I'm not talking about making things unsafe, but to just make it a bit more reasonable. Also a lot of people that had wealth then gave back to the community, i.e. Andrew Carnegie.
