The Party's Over, It's Time to Call It a Day ....

I have to say that I have come across some pretty nice people here on MyLot, although many of those I really liked have either disappeared or are very sporadic, a bit like myself. The few who are left are being very quiet, and that leaves me with trying to communicate with the others. Now keep in mind that the money I “earn” here is totally irrelevant, I’m here for, as my Irish friends would say, the “crack”, but with the current population of the Lot “crack” is very hard to find. I’m just one of many who occasionally lose the plot and scream pathetically about the inane, banal, and totally meaningless babble that makes up most discussions, but that can be ignored to a large extent if there’s some good stuff around. There is also a large element within the population of religious fundamentalists, politically conservative zealots, loonies, male supremacists, and bombastic ignoramuses, all talking (to my mind) rubbish. Then there are all those for whom English is a second or third language, and although I can say they do better at it than I would in any other language than English, it is still sometimes impossible to make sense of what they are trying to say. And finally, there are the large numbers of members who clearly have no idea of how this place works, and who never return to the discussions or comments they post thus making my responses a waste of time and space. Communication requires two people at least. And so it becomes increasingly difficult to wade through the banality, the rubbish, the incompetence, and the language barriers to find anything worth replying to. So difficult that I am giving up. So, to all those people on my friends list, it’s been nice talking with you over the years but fare thee well for I must leave thee but do not let the parting grieve thee, for remember that the best of friends must part ...
